Console modder Ben Heck generally takes formerly gigantic things and crams them into small packages. For his most recent project, he did the opposite: He stuck an Xbox 360 wireless controller into an original Xbox controller, which is monstrous in size. While yes, he added batteries and wireless capabilities to the original Xbox controller, it just doesn't feel as exciting as, say, an Xbox 360 laptop. I mean, who wants to go back to that terrible controller, anyways? [Ben Heck via Technabob]

Wae-ha-ha-ha - what a great illustration!
amazing the stuff he builds
NA NAH,, the old controllers are way better than the current 360 models. the S(issy)type is just for little girly men!!
AMERICA - bigger is better :)
I have really long fingers, so the original xbox controller was actually more comfortable than the tiny 360 one is for me :P
What?
Maybe he should have stuck it in a Xbox Controller S...
I'm 6'7" and 270lbs,
The orignal Xbox Controller was more comfortable to me than any other controller I've ever used, so if these ever went on sale somewhere, I'd be all over it.
Personally I like the original xbox controller more than the new tiny ones. I'm a regular sized guy.
The original controller let you stretch out your fingers more than a smaller, more cramped controller. It's not like having the buttons closer together or having a smaller grip is going to make you play better.
old controller >>>>> all. besides fitting snugly in my manly palms, it could also take a beating when chucked across the room during Hang Em High.
@bpatten: i think ms made the right decision with the 360 controller though as most of us aren't 6'7". not sure on the 270 though.
I have several friends who loved the 'big duke' controller. I'm surprised none of them have tried this yet.

I also miss the old controller. It fits perfectly in my huge hands. I'd love a controller modded in this way (or some special edition of the 360 controller that looks like it).
@Paradise: Indeed, I'm not saying it wasn't a good decision, just that I enjoy the "big'uns".
I don't know how playable 360 games are going to be though. Trying to press the Black or white jewel buttons where games require the pressing of the bumpers.
Whoa, what's up with these comments? I didn't realize there were more then two people on the planet who actually liked the original controller. What kind of freakish octopus hands do you have to have to be fond of that disaster?
As opposed to those with large hands who love "Big Duke", I have small hands (ok, I can't buy gloves because my fingers are too short to fit comfortably) and love the controller. Stretch out, big beefy grip to hold on to, and kept my fingers from cramping.
I don't even own an Xbox and I bought the controller for when I see my friends who do have one.
tsk tsk tsk... is the "big controller" authorized by microsoft?!
Heh. This reminds me of a Penny Arcade comic:
