The CES hangover just won't go away. These Swedish Statement speakers are not new, but in Vegas a few people with more audio knowledge than I have in my whole pinky got a close look at this $450,000 system. The big feature is the 1-inch diamond tweeters and 2-inch diamond midranges (apparently the only one in the world).
2000 watts of juice and active crossovers with digital room correction taking over below 100Hz for perfectly smooth bass. Total range is 15-100k Hz and 93dB into 4 ohms.Does Google have an audiophile language translation tool in beta yet?

What money wasted, if you want to see some serious power for a little less than 170k (way less than the "diamond" system) then check these out http://www.mcintoshlabs.com/mcprod/shopdisplayproducts.asp... Here's a complete system http://www.audioholics.com/ces/CESspeakers/McIntoshXRT2k.p... the rest you can spend on a rock so big Kate moss would be drooling, oops, wrong kind of rock. - Corporate -
Hey, Josh from SonicFlare here. Yeah, the McIntosh system was absolutely insane. They had 110 drivers in each speaker running off 2000 solid state watts. Of course, you need a living room the size of an airplane hanger for the system but, hey, anything for audio. I should remind people you don't have to be Jay-Z to get into hi-fi. If you want a truly killer high-end system, check out the Zu Druids -- only $2800 for the speakers and they will play as big and clear as you can handle. Plus, the guys who own the company are just damn cool and know how to put on a killer "anti-audiophile" show: CES report: http://www.sonicflare.com/archives/vegas-zu.php http://www.zucable.com/
Hey Josh, Speakers looks nice, wonder what they sound like, I have the xrt30 system and they rock, of course they were a bit more pricey than the ZU Druids, But i'm a fan of all great speakers. Any showrooms? I saw a pair of xrt2k selling for 60k brand new. That's 20g's off of retail, that's insane. You guys at gizmodo should cover more sound systems SOUND IS GREAT - corporate -
Spending more than a nice house costs on a stereo is ridiculous.
Hey Robbie, where do you know that you can get a nice house for 170k? Keep on dreaming pal - Corporate -
