Moving just slightly up from their iTube iPod dock, Fatman's just birthed this Mothership tube amp. The £5000 ($9897) amp has 200 watts per channel, vacuum tube preamps, and other crazy stuff that most of us will never need. Oh, and they recommend that you don't use the 128kbps music you download from iTunes as a source for an amp that costs almost ten grand. It'd be like paying for a lady escort and having her go fetch your dry cleaning. Fatman via Shiny Shiny]

That's like the old joke:
John: ...and so, for $100, you'd do anything?
Hooker: Yup.
John: Excellent! Do my taxes, please.
Ah, an excuse to break out the vinyl again... Wait. What? $9897? Um 128kbps doesn't sound THAT bad...
I am going to wait for the crystal bedazzled version. I won't buy anything unless it has ice glued to it, and lots of it!

Old obsession die hard. Prince Charles prefer Camilla Parker Bowles over Diana.
For $9897 at least it'll heat the room that you put it in as well.
Wow, 200 watts out of tubes is some SERIOUS muscle. There are very few speakers that could survive that.
HOT DAMN! audiophiles anyone??? =DD
