Panasonic announced it will ship its 103-inch plasma screen this Christmas. You might recall the company's 1080p behemoth, introduced at CES three months ago as a techno-demo, which won the dick contest on the show floor, showing the world who can pony up the biggest plasma display.
Panasonic says the screen has a contrast ratio of 3000:1, but didn't release pricing information yet. It also didn't mention that 45-minute wait for this baby to warm up.

could it be put into some sort of "sleep" mode so that you don't have to wait 45 minutes every time?
now we're talking. real size, real fun and real cool ! It's a pity it will probably cost somewhere in the gazillion dollars. anyone have ANY (realistic) ideas of how much they will market this puppy for?
What do you suppose the energy use is on a 103" Plasma display considering current Plasma displays are some of the biggest energy wasters this side of the Hummer assembly lines. Just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD.
I don't think that there is an ACTUAL wait of 45 minutes for it to warm up.
I like the woman...
Will be above $60k easily.
Plasma TVs take no more power than your standard CRT TV actually, and there are far more tube TVs out there than plasmas.
