You'd never guess by looking at that mild-mannered apartment building pictured above that inside would be a convincing replica of the set of Star Trek: Voyager. But that's just what Trekkie Tony Alleyne has done to his studio apartment north of London, creating a bachelor pad where he'll probably never, ever get laid.
Not only is it spot-on realistic, it's packed with tech and gadgets such as voice-activated LED lighting throughout, hi-tech HVAC systems and authentic sound effects. He even has plans to install Star Trek-style sliding doors. But what, is this guy a set designer or something? Well, he is now. He's started his own renovation biz, 24th Century Design, doing projects like this for clients. Amazing. See how he did it in this well-written article.
Apartment Transformed into Star Trek Shrine [Electronic House]

I want to read about the story when he moves out and the landlord says everything out down to bare walls.
You reported this last year:
[ Replicating Starship Voyager Causes Bankruptcy - ...
Wow. I mean, wow. This is really, really cool. I mean, I'll pass, because I like to have sex with women, but I definately admire the guys craftsmanship.
One thing you will not see in this apartment: a human female.
guy in the UK did it a few years ago, put his own tinsel and spot light transporter in - i think it was just after his wife left him - unfortunately - I'm not joking.
But...Voyager? C'mon, if you're go this effin' Star Trek crazy, you ought to be aimin for the 1701.
Oh, he'll get laid. He just has to do all his "picking up" at Star Trek conventions, that's all. And when he gets to the convention, he should only hit on the women who are fully decked out in Starfleet uniforms and makeup, and are wearing mock communicator lapelles. The others won't be hardcore enough to "live" in the Star Trek world.
The article from last year didn't say a whole lot... This has a bit more detail, as well as some info on what he's doing now.
Also, the guy never tried to sell it for $2 million. That is sort of a web rumor. He told me it was half that, and he only posted it at that price to get people interested in his company. It didn't work out so great though!
Just think a second about what else he could have done with his effort and time. Now, think about how you are wasting your effort and time commenting on something someone like that did. It's scary isn't it. I need to go do homework or walk the dog or something. I'm depressed. Tomorrow, I will cease and desist my wasted free time and start my effort to become President!
the question is: where are the phasers and photon torpedoes?
That is a very nicely done place. A little cold for my tastes but you have to admire his ingenuity. I especially like how he hid his bed in that radiator/heating unit looking thing (in the room with the red and blue circles on the ground) pretty crafty if you ask me. I just wish there where descriptions on where his fridge is stashed and his clothes and what big mirror or lcars looking thing is his giant honkin tv, cause if there is no big tv, then this place is just worthless.
Nerd on!!
Clearly it's not Voyager. The display in the bathroom shows a more recent class of starship, I can't tell exactly but it looks like a Nova class science ship. Voyager did feature a story arc about a lost Nova class ship though.
Not to denegrate the craftsmanship (he did an awesome job), but that just seems like a waste of money to me. It's kind of like the guy that buys a $2,000 car and puts $4,000 rims on it. Why not just spend that money on getting a better place (or car)? I'm not saying that it's a stupid idea, just that I don't get it at all (unless he has a huge amount of disposable income). I guess if his plan was to make a career of doing things like that for people... Still, though. (what can I say, I'm a math guy... Me and the artistic types don't have much in common)
Which of those buttons calls his parents to come pick him up?
The landlord "Bare Walls" commment has to be a joke. This guy was nuts to do this, but he's super nuts if he did it in a rental.
Bring in a female that has no idea what Star Trek is and she'll think it's just some Hi-Tech toys and that the guy must be loaded so then she'll stay with him.
@dantes666: And all of the blinking lights and colors might send her into an epileptic state, hence he won't have to use any of the roofies stored in his secret galactic storage chamber.
Yeah I beg to differ, this guy could get more play than someone with fame if he finds the right venues. Let's say, for example, he hires himself out to do custom remodels for strip clubs around the world in order to attract the tech demographic. Great potential . . .
Mr. Bits says, "Wow that born again virgin movement will do anything to see that they peeps succeed, mad props BAVs, Mad props!"
Yes, I'm single...how did you guess?
wow.
that's all i got.
Oh he'll get action alright. That place is a green alien babe magnet.
I think an entertainment room styled like Ten Forward could be kinda cool. It has a fairly minimal design and wouldn't require a lot of LCARS displays.
That is the Nova class starship. Its a replica of a Voyager set, but not THE Voyager, rather the Equinox.
His ongoing mission - to seek out new ways to drive away women and/or men, to explore strange new worlds of loneliness, to boldly go where no one else wants to go.
North of London - ITS NORTH OF BIRMINGHAM!!! Right in the freaking middle!
At least, that's what the article says, Leicester is 100's of miles away from London pshht.
Anyways, to the matter on hand - I want one, wants it precious, and I know the missus would love it... as she's a huge Voyager fan.
Anyway, who needs real women when you have a holodeck? No one is going to pry this guy away from his holodeck while he is getting a hot oil massage from Jessica Simpson and her simulated twin sister. He DID build a holodeck, didn't he? I sure hope so. Otherwise, what a waste!
Who needs real women when you have a holodeck at home?? No one will be able to pry this guy out of his house while he's getting a hot oil massage from Jessica Simpson and her simulated twin sister. He DID build a holodeck, didn't he?? If not, what a waste!
Is this the same guy who later killed himself, or is this a new guy who'll be offing himself in the next few months?
Is this not the same apartment that you guys have been reporting on numerous times before? I swear, I've seen this article at least three times before!
fake. those are just props.. just kidding! but i did see this 5 years ago
If I were him I would have re-created the sick bay in detail so I could perform mock operations on alien females.
plz tell me he made a holodeck? if he did he could get laid by a holograph of a woman lol. but no really thats pretty good. my mom would be proud since me and her luv star trek voyager and all the other star treks.
I'd be willing to do that in my basement, that way potential sex partners won't see my dirty little secret until after I have had my way with them.
"Please state the nature of the medical emergency. Oh, it's you again."
He would make a good set designer effects guy out in Hollywood (Weird)
Englishman from the North of England marignal sunlight lots of cold darkness creates these 'unique' individuals... but hey what skill and dedication good for him i say!
