An event that happens less than Neptune colliding with Uranus: two consoles arriving on our doorstep simultaneously. Actually now that we think about it, it's only happened once...ever. The Wii and PS3 have landed, and only Gizmodo has the exclusive unboxing of both next-gen devices. This is the retail PS3, which unlike the test PS3 units everyone else got, is the actual console you'll be getting in stores.
Even with the Sizmodo, it was hard for us to appreciate just how tiny the Wii is compared to the PS3. All that "next-gen" graphics makes Sony's console twice as tall and twice as fat.
Take a look at the gallery to see the consoles, controllers, accessories, movies, games, and connectors. If you want to know what your Nintendo and Sony experience will be like on launch day, this is the only place to see it. And if you want to know what it looks like when I stick the Wii down my pants, well, you can see that too.

ROFL, HFS!! Those cheap bastards couldnt even change the name on the memory card slots!!! In a way its kind of upsetting to know that basically all I am paying for is a new way to play games (wiimote)...

michelinman85, it says Gamecube on those slots because that's what those slots are for, legacy memory cards from your Gamecube to use on any Gamecube games you play on the Wii.

Talladega nights comes as a bonus gift in Blu Ray, but it doesn't come out in stores until mid December. Not worth the PS3 cost of $500-600 but at least they give you something extra...

Still would take a PS3 over a Wii. Somehow, I would feel more comfortable in a 'my console's bigger than yours' argument with the PS3 at my side.

those scratches could also just be reflection of the sun into fibrous material that sony uses for the exterior shell.

Marnoot, I kind of got that, being the slots were identical to the memory card slots on a Gamecube. I just thought it was hilarious that they actually had to label it for the stupid people on this earth who lack the common sense to figure that out for themselves.
If murder meant that I could get my hands on that swag, it wouldn't even be a decision.
And those say Gamecube because they are for Gamecube memory cards. You won't use those for Wii games; you will use an SD card in the SD slot on the front of the console.
I'm confused, why does the Wii box picture show the Wii narrower on the back end and with a stand, but the photos all how it like one big brick with a corner cut off. What's going on here?

Also, the photos on the box are in an all white environment. So you lose your frame of reference and can't determine perspective all that well.
It makes me think of Darth Vader and a stormtrooper.

michelinman85, looking at two slots and not instantly recognizing them as gamecube memory slots isn't stupid. Secondly, unlabelled slots, quite obviously, tend to look way cheaper and much less profesisonal compared to labelled slots, however obvious they might be.
With that rant out of the way, is it me or does the PS3 memory card slots look dirty and dusty?

im pretty sure the console recesses into that gray stand, making it looks like it angles back.

So the Wii does not come with a classic controller? I've yet to read any confirmation either way, but since we get half a dozen pics of someone shoving the console in their pants and none of the classic controller, I'm gonna guess it wasn't in there.
Disappointing.
And look at the controllers! The A button has an actual "A" on it! Sheesh, how do these idiots that can't figure that out for themselves even breathe, let alone play video games?
