In case that Swarovski espresso machine was too gaudy for your tastes, Nespresso has teamed up with Porsche Design to bring you this piece of kitchen gadgetry. The Nespresso Siemens by Porsche Design lets you play barista by serving up cups of espresso, cappuccino, and macchiato. Unfortunately, though it carries the Porsche name, it doesn't make your coffee any faster in the morning.
Porsche Designed Nespresso Espresso Machine [Single Serve Coffee]

So how many Nespresso posts does it take for them to send you a free machine?
I don't know if it's the same porsche design, but I own a Grundig radio that carries the same logo as the coffee maker pictured above, and it has "Designed by F.A. Porsche"
Anyone here ever try coffee made from these things? Tastes absolutely terrible. Can any of these pod coffee systems actually make a decent cup of coffee?
i'll put it next to my ferrari hard drive and my mitsubishi paperclips. that way i can look ever tooler. oh yeah and my prada cellphone and my loreal pencil sharpener.
no shame in selling the name, i guess.
For several years, Bosch has been making/selling a Porsche Design coffee maker.
I use my Porsche Design La Cie drive every day.
That's nothing. I paid $3,000 for my Jura Capresso, and it actually makes good coffee. These packet-based bastards make substandard coffee for the price. I'm sorry, they just do. $1,500 and you can't use your own ground beans. Are they freaking kidding? No coffee connoisseur on Earth would use that. And moreover, ONLY a coffee connoisseur would be willing to pay $1,500 for a machine. Stupid product.
"Nespresso Siemens" just don't sound too appetizing in the morning.
Every and any question you have regarding espresso can be answered on coffeegeek.com .
I have a FrancisFrancis x5 and it makes excellent espresso. I feel pods are a huge waste of money and produce inferior espresso, but if you get anything other a Nespresso (proprietary pods) that costs more than $250 (you need a pump machine to get 9 atm of pressure, steam machines are cheaper but useless) you'll likely be able to use ESE pods. They're quite good, and work in pretty much all non-proprietary coffee makers.
I can't say enough good things about the Francis X5 and X3. I'd love a three-way solenoid valve, but for $1k I'll deal with a touch of drip and love the coffee.
That said: smart money is on the AeroPress and an electric kettle at your desk. So much better than Star8ucks, and your wallet will thank you for it. They said it's good for your stomach, too. There are 100 pages of comments on coffeegeek.com , too.
It's curious. I travel some around the world and every damn espresso i taste outside portugal or italy tastes like shit.
Of course, that's my personal taste, just like Ub3rg33k's taste saying nespresso tastes terrible.
One good thing about nespresso is that most stores that sell them also have a machine ready for your coffee tasting pleasure, so go ahead and give it a try.
My personal experience, nespresso tastes better than any other pod based espresso machine i ever found, and it always tastes the same. It's a good choice if you're not addicted to that specific coffee blend. Just stay away from any nespresso machine costing over 200$, since the innards are all the same in every machine.
