Trusted Reviews plays around with the JVC Mini Note, an ultra-portable notebook that manages to include a built-in DVD drive (rare in the 'tiny and light' category). There's quite a few shortcomings—crap keyboard, relatively small hard drive, anemic 256MB RAM stock—but overall it looks as if it has a bit of a glow about it, and should at least be considered if you have a need for tiny laptops in your bag (and who doesn't?)
I'm 95% sure that the Mini Note hasn't gotten a proper US launch, but if since it's being released in the UK, your import needs should be pretty simple if you're in the market, considering it's already been localized for English speakers. Update: And actually is available in the US!
