Kitty vs Frontrow, Round 1

Featured over at Youtube, check out this clip of an adorable kitty battling a MacBook loaded up with FrontRow. Kitties, MacBooks, FrontRow, how could this video get any better? Maybe if the kitty had some stuff on it.

  • who sits and watches while there cat scratches the hell out of there notebook screen. Hope its declawed!

  • If I was apple, I'd drop the crappy Mac vs. PC ads and just show this video on TV. Apple: so easy, even kittens have it figured out.

  • That's one way too get your expensive Macintosh scratched.

  • Well, at least we've found a use for Macs - cat toys!

  • hope the poor kitty didnt get burned walking over that bed of coals

  • Minutes later, the owner wrote an indignant e-mail to MacInTouch expressing his outrage at how easily the $3,000 MacBook's finish is scratched.

  • I saw this 3 weeks ago. Good job Gizmodo. Not.

  • Did that guy just drop the "Not" bomb? I'd call and raise with a good, strong "psyche!" but I'm too busy putting my pants on backwards.

  • That one cute kitty, but is it wise to let it play with a $2500 laptop? Kitties got claws, after all.

  • my cat does the same thing to my computer. cats rule!!!

  • Are we having a hard time finiding stories here at macmodo?

  • We're sorry that you are disappointed with the post, Vanquish. It was posted as something entertaining and not necessarily newsworthy and timely. Even though the video was posted on Youtube last week, I figured a lot of the Gizmodo readers hadn't seen it and would get some enjoyment out of it. Next time you find a gem like this feel free to send it to our tips inbox. While we do this for a living, there is no way we can cover every single corner of the internet and help from the readers is always appreciated. -Travis

  • If only my cat were so lively. She just sits on the keyboard whenever I try to type anythipasoaspdfabadsfbhjebfenmmq23aawqw

  • well at least someone found an exclusive use for a mac.

  • A cat anywhere near my MacBook Pro would lose some limbs. If it actually climbed onto it, I'd kill it. Then I'd put it in a sarcophagus and resurrect it. Then I'd kill it again.

  • So THAT'S how my Nano got it's distinguished scratched looks. My 15.5 pounder would destroy the poor Mac in seconds. GO KITTY!

  • This is too frickin' cute. I guess the owner opted for the extended warranty.

  • I'm sure the user in question doesn't care much about the notebook being beat up if he/she tapes the cat playing with it ... funny video though ... I have a cat story to share: I was in my room, the door shut, playing with the innards of my computer (I think I was putting in a 5.25" floopy drive to put some old games I liked on my PC - this was about 5 or 6 years ago, and I didn't yet have t3h int4rw3b in my room). I went into my closet to find a cable for it or something, leaving my computer out of site. I heard the door open, and didn't think anything of it, then I turned around. My longhaired calico kitty thought that the motherboard was a good thing to rub up against (yes, she learned how to open doors ... smart cat). Poor cat, being thrown across the room and through the door, and poor little sister down the hall, hearing a few choice words ... after I got all the fur off, the PC ran fine, though. And about an hour later, while I was playing Elite installed from the aforementioned drive, the cat came back and slept on my lap :)

  • And I used site instead of sight - DANG YOU, INT4RW3BS ... Also, you CAN declaw cats - they'd then only have the back claws, and be far less likely to scratch the computer. It is kinda inhumane, though :/ And Sirtalis - 15.5 pounds o.O I thought my 13 pound grey tabby potato on toothpicks was big - is it a Maine Coon or something? (On a side note, 4 cats, 3 dogs {2 laboradors and a yorkie} and a ferret = fun times, especially when they all get along :) Have to protect the fragile stuff, though ...)

  • Vanquish, I don't have any problem with you being an asshat. I do, however, encourage you not to advertise. Peace to the kitties.

  • Looks like its trying to get that protective film off the rear vents.

  • Fortunately the kitty knew to stay away from the magsafe power plug and didn't cause it to catch on fire! http://www.gizmodo.com/gadgets/laptops/macbook-magnetic-ma...

  • That's great. Nice post Travis, I smiled the whole time. Then again I smiled the whole time I read Vanquishes post too, not! I only smiled at the end when he said, "not", bitches! OMG All your base are belong to Vanquish, he's 1337. Right guys, right? It's still cool!1!1!!1!1? I apologize. I need another shot.

  • ChzPlz: that made me laugh!

  • Come on...anyone who is entertained enough to take at least two minutes worth of video of a kitten doesn't DESERVE that computer!

  • Says 'video no longer available' :( I missed it!

Oh and WMeredith...Thank you, I actually laughed out loud :)
