Fans of Dell's M1210 (the fighting 12-incher) will be interested in this update to their gaming/business notebook. Our tipster tells us that Dell will put in the old Santa Rosa-style upgrade that we've been seeing all over the place lately, which gives the little guy a bit of a boost in performance to keep it up to date with other laptop lines.
In other non-CPU news, the M1210 update will have a 8400M DX10 graphics card, LED backlighting, slot-loading DVD drive, and be 4 pounds and smaller/thinner than the previous M1210. The tipster got his or her hands on it recently and says it's great, but it's going to be very pricey.
Thanks tipster!

Sounds like that could be really nice actually. When I played around with the M1210 at the Dell kiosk at my local mall, it seemed pretty nice, but the screen seemed kind of dark and dull. An LED-backlit screen could be really nice, would also make it more in line with the premium Sony SZ models.
Interesting to hear that it's smaller/thinner too - that was probably the only other complaint I would have had about the old M1210; that it seemed a bit on the thick side.
Im in ur lappy. Coolin teh cpu.
LOL (spincrisis)
Personally, I think Dell M1210 has the best price to feature+look ratio.
Any idea on how much more expensive these will be than the previous edition? I have been waiting for Santa Rosa to purchase one of these but if they are going to bump up the price too I may decide just to buy it now.
blu-ray would be nice. blu-ray and hdmi for like 1800 would be really nice
