A shot of the new LG VX10000 was recently posted in the forums, revealing what could be the successor to Verizon's enV branded phone. Other than a slightly sleeker design and what appears to be a larger screen, not much information is known. There is no word yet on pricing or availability.

woah, what's the aspect ratio? hmmm..interesting
If that screen is as big as it looks, it could be a real hit. I'm imagining a compact version of Nokia's Communicator.
There's something about the grey and orange keys that reminds me of high-end calculators from the '70s, too. I like that.
i actually like it
um.....
COULD I GET A LARGER PHONE!?!?!?!?!!?
bah.........
@permissionmag: I was thinking the same thing about the keys - except that I strongly feel they hinder the look of the device! There's a place for retro. . . but this segment isn't it for me.
um......
COULD I GET A LARGER PHONE PLEASE?!?!?!?!!?
BAH............
@trunk666
1) NO!
2) NO!
I kinda dig this phone.
I really like my VX8600, but texting is something I'm doing more of lately.
What ELSE does it do? That's what I'm wondering.
@Permissionmag and Professional Gun-You both read my mind. The first thing that popped into my mind when I saw the new enV was my old Nokia 9300. Ah, I don't have T-mo anymore so in my 'Retirement home for phones' drawer it will sit.
I've got the current model of the enV, it looks almost the exact same when you look at a picture of it - The screens not bigger, there's just a glossy half inch strip of black plastic on each side of the screen... you can see the difference between the plastic and the actual screen if you look closely at the screenshot.
I don't think the screen is as big as it looks... seems like the logos/ads take up a good portion... Strap this baby on your belt and the babes will definitely know you are compensating for something...
The keys look a little easier to read. I see the dark areas, but the screen still looks a bit larger than the screen on the enV. If it is bigger, it would be a good indicator that maybe they are planning on this phone being part of the Vcast TV service.
don't text...don't care
vx10000???? i guess they really didnt wanted to think of a new name for this phone why not vxti89?
@permissionmag: I hadn't thought about it, but I also love the 70's calculator-ish buttons.
Give me this phone, but no thicker then a RAZR closed and I'm in.
I'm probably heading to Helio though. The Fin is what I wish the RAZR really was, the pricing is the same for 500 minutes on Helio when I'm spending it for 900 mins on Verizon and only using 250-400 a month.
Now, if only Helio could get something as thin as the fin or razr with a qwerty keyboard and I found my dream phone.
I need it to sit in my pocket without any visible bump.
too big, the thing a freaking brick. well atleast the past one was, i had it for about a month and i could barely get it in my pocket, so i exchanged it and got the krzr (hacked the vzw) firmware instead.
this is the first phone in mobile history with 10000 in its name. awesome.
@bigTrue: you're asking for way too much

razr thin (basically), QWERTY keyboard, on Verizon. Have had this phone for a few months now and love it.
@vocalyouth: I like that one too!
I know. I've seen it, held it at the store, but something about the dual flip bothers me. It's totally a personal issue, because otherwise this phone is fantastic, but something about that dual flip just doesn't sit right.
I'm too damn picky.
Basically, the V line is the perfect phone, I just want it much thinner then the first incarnation, and thinner then the second. If this is thin enough, I just may stay with Verizon. I just would rather have the unlimited online/data/testing on Helio for the same price with less mins since I rarely make calls.
The only thing that I don't like about that one is that the two directions of keys makes the layout confusing and harder to find the numerical keys.
Screen is ~ 2.5" laterally & at most 1.25" vertically which isn't big enough for a touch (or stylus-activated) screen. Not much bigger than 1.75" x 1.25" on enV.
shift key & Symbol ("Sym") key are in reverse order on enV & this VX10000 model-
I've had the enV for over 1/2 year & I'm still typing symbols when meaning to type Caps & vice-versa 'cuz this is a crappy (ie non-user friendly) exact opposite deviation from standard QWERTY keyboard convention. Also, which human-factors "engineer" designed the SEND/END keys right next to eachother & near scroll/OK buttons? Hit END by mistake & all your progress is LOST --not cool when your recording a 10 minute video.
Verizon will again insist on their "internet browser" which only lets you look at extremely limited web content. All of the above will force the VX10000 to say "I could have had class --I could have been a contender, instead of a bum, which is what I am!"
Since most of the young people and some of the trendy older people are going retro companies have to go retro with their looks to attract more buyers.
the LG10000 isnt retro exactly. Its the retro version of the future. A lot of grey, and orange.
For some reason they think that grey was the futuristic color and the ever so popular shiny clothing. (Remembers Diddy and Mase)
I would buy it if i didnt already have a T-Mobile phone.
I also heard that cingular bought T-Mobile i´d like to see a thread about that please and tha0nk you.
I have the enV and love it, and this looks even better. I believe somebody said above and it was the same thing I thought when I saw this pic is that it looks like LG is catching onto some of the cooler aspects of the Nokia Communicators, like the screen thats almost as wide as the phone flipped open. Heres to hoping the include wifi like the Nokia 9500 did.
Hey, it's a crappy version of the Nokia E90!
I post on howard forums and the general consensus on there is that this pic is a fake (note the enV button in the top left corner of the keyboard).
I have a friend who works developing Verizon's internet browser and he described the phone as a qwerty keyboard with larger inside screen, and the entire front as a touch screen. He also called it the VX10K, don't know if that's the name or if he was just using an abbreviation.
