Xbox 360 Laptop Mod

Tired of the Xbox 360's "look-how-hard-I'm-trying-to-look-hip" aesthetics? Mod it, young man. That's what Ben Heckendorn did, transforming the Xbox 360 into a much smaller, laptop-like fun adapter. Something like that. The laptop mod incorporates a 17-inch high definition LCD along with a built-in keyboard and Wi-Fi and stuffed into a shell that's no more than 2.8-inches deep.

The laptop 360 is water-cooled and cools more efficiently than a regular Xbox 360. Maybe Microsoft should've put Mr. Heck on the 360's development team.

This was worth it just for the cartoon about the guy's purchasing experience.

On the other hand: I can sorta see why Microsoft might not want to ship a consumer electronics device like a 360 in a laptop form factor with water cooling. Y'know? Just saying. Fings break, colonel. Plus, it's not like the thing wasn't expensive enough.

It was a fun read but it doesnt even hint at the fact that you still have to carry around the "brick" power supply.

unlike some of you, i actually think this would be a fantastic idea (for MS to put into mainstream). its a combo of some of the biggest multimedia gagdets around, and not to mention it looks great! its not as portable as say the ds or psp, but is still plenty portable...throw in a document and a web browsing program, and i think you could sell quiet a few of these!

I don't think that needs to be said. He's already got that thing packed to the gills, there's no room for a battery. I would just assume you would have to carry the power supply with you and it still really wouldn't be a bad thing. Just another 8 pounds to add to the 14+ pounds.
