Somehow, when I put on that Transformer Helmet this morning, it turned Gizmodo into Gizmodo Prime. Biew Biew Biew! Bugs?
Email tips@gizmodo.com with Bug, Browser, OS, and screenshot if you know how, and bug description in the subject line, with details in the body.
GizmodoBots, Roll Out. UPDATE: Thanks for sending in tips, please keep em coming. We'll fix a ton of em as the weekend goes.

Comments
I like the new layout but put the animated logo.
I get IE7 weirdness: text overlaying other text and images. Formatting is all buggered. Please fix...
it'll take getting used to....but those flash logos in the middle of the page are absolutely horrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrible. move em to the sidebar or something. other than that, i like it i guess. more articles on less page
Yuck. Can I go back to the old layout? Not as clear and a lot of empty white space on the right.
the whole left side bar is throwing me off. just switch it back to the right pweese.
Thumbs down on the new design. I prefer the old style with a clearer hierarchy (bigger headlines), and I'm a big believer in less is more, and now this page is just more cramped, harder to zip through, less fun and more of a headache... Sorry.
Thanks for the feedback, guys. Keep it coming
Maybe it's Opera, but I'm not liking the new layout at all. Maybe a choice between this, and the old one would be great.
Ugh... Tiny pictures!
What prompted the new layout? Bandwidth issues?
No issues yet with Safari 3... I mean, other than the whole "Change = Bad" thing, but maybe that's just me.
Editing your profile no longer works. It just opens a blank page. BUUUUUUT it could be Opera doing that.
Sometimes the text overlay on Firefox, but sometimes only, not every post. Also the edit user profile doesn't work for me either. Bad link?
I like the new layout, but your info block to the right doesn't account for the text width of the posts or comments. You currently have a class conflict.
umm... dunno, i don't really like it. it feels ugly/messy, at least on Flock for Macintosh (which is like firefox i guess).
Not happy.
Itty bitty pictures don't have the same impact.
Not very Web 2.0 No cool CSS. Instead it looks like a step back to the 90's.
This new layout is like listening to Fran Drescher only for my eyes.
basically still having awful IE7 bugs... i've just mailed with a print screen...
it seems that all the "metadata" is getting on top of the "main text"... it happends everywhere, in the posts, in the comments...
*sighs*
agreed.
I dont like the new layout. I have a 24" screen and half of it is blank.
me no rike! pics too small. didn't you guys win a design bloggie this year? why fix what's not broken?
From the comments here it is a ratio of about 8:2 against the new look.
I haaaaateeee this layout on my Widescreen display.
Oh god, please change it back. It SUCKS. Sorry, it just really doesn't work.
Thank you, Rayman, you captured my feelings perfectly.
Btw, the "blockquote" tag doesn't seem to work anymore...?
I'm sorry, too much blank space and tiny pictures, plus generic textures on the left side, I'm tossing my vote in with the "DO NOT WANT" crowd.
The real question is, will our bitching get it changed back?
Too much empty space on Camino as well. If the date, author, etc was alined with the right edge of the ads everything would look a lot better.
If strider_mt2k says he hates the new look then will you make it go away ?
wtf just happened to Gizmodo?!
Works well on my screen... I like that it packs more stuff in the same space. I like the comments better... I feel they are more readable that way. I like the reply button too. Too bad the name of the commenter is far to the right but maybe it will encourage regulars to put a logo (I just put mine today!). I like the list of page 2 articles at the bottom. I like the small thumbnails in the list of articles and the large images once you click into one, although I can agree with Windhawk regarding impact. I like the simplicity in general. HOWEVER, I am not too fond of the sidebar and logo on the top left. It's kinda weak. And I regret that the whole design feels a bit less homey now. Hey, you can't have it all. Anyway, thanks for making it work so well on Safari (sorry, IE and FF users... time to "upgrade" LOL). I guess it's iPhone ready now, eh? You may not have the iPhone yet, but maybe you have [www.marketcircle.com]
Not a fan. Everything is scrunched together on the main page-- it's harder to differentiate between each post. Plus, the headlines are closer to the size of the post text, making harder to differentiate between those two as well. Instead of there being a bunch of individual posts, now (to my eyes) it looks like a big wall of text.
As Cartman would say, "lame".
There is a ton of white space on the right side of my screen, and I can't find whats causing it. There is nothing there...:(
Oh, and I wish my comment would show after some kind of refresh once I have validated it. Right now, I have to refresh the page to see it...
I LOVE how Gizmodo criticized how an iphone + AT&T wireless = unholy monopoly of stalinistic proportions yet what I see on top of my page is a BIG FAT AT&T BANNER! Oh the irony.....
I see no improvements, just smaller pictures and cramped layout. Gizmodo prime sucks as much as Optimus prime.
Now the ads look bigger. Smart move!
*newsflash* giz readers are a tough crowd. surprise!
Oh god what have you done? The smaller pictures and condensed layout is the worst thing I've seen since Web 1.0.
If you're going to go to this layout, maybe you should just start using Blogger. It enables 4-year-olds to make nicer looking pages.
(sorry, but honest)
PS having to look to the right side to see who posted a comment? very bad user interface. yech.
@rayman19082: Same
Cool room Brian. Honestly, I'd think you were a 13-year-old kid with those things. You're probably still a chick magnet. When I grow up, I wanna be just like you...
works fine in firefox, not so much in IE6. Same problem with the poster name and time being overlayed onto the comment text.
I do like the layout of the comments on the article pages: it makes for quicker reading.
The new front page is, um, well, uh... sorry, got to go ;(
Btw, I like that you put the by-line to the right of each post excerpt. I hated having to click through some posts to see who wrote it.
Not that I have favorites, but I like to have who wrote it in mind when I read the post.
I don't like it at all...when I first saw it I thought it was some temporary sight until something new was posted...i hope whoever did this LISTENS TO THESE COMMENTS and change it back or find something new!
FFox user here. In my best Napoleon Dynamite voice "SWEET"
Me... likey!
The text overlay is horrible. It's impossible to read the synopses on the front page.
Not a big fan of the new layout. Too hard to differentiate between posts. The smaller title text doesn't help that at all.
big thumbs up for new layout, love it
"sakujo sakujo sakujo sakujo sakujo sakujo sakujo sakujo sakujo sakujo"
For the uninformed, that means "deletion", but it's in quotes as it's a quote from the Death Note anime.

Man, that was harsh! Four-year olds don't make web pages -- they go around wearing Transformer Helmets screaming, "Biew Biew Biew!!!"
Oh wait... ;-)
blah. don't like it at all. can you give us the option to change it back? please. i look forward to the little "NEXT" button for the next page.
Keep the feedback coming. We'll be tweaking things off of your kind and gentle comments. Thanks you nutty bastards.
Safari 3/Mac OS X: when the contents of the right column are taller than the synopsis in the left column and the title in the left column is wider than the column itself, the title and the top of the right column's contents collide and make the title unreadable.
You guys should create a Bugzilla page...
Thumbs down. Don't like the loss of the old hierarchy (now, pictures, headline size, and body copy are the wrong proportion, and the text sizes are too close together... there's also not enough negative space.) My eyes don't like to navigate through the stories, it doesn't feel pleasing, it feels more like work... and the left-hand ad column is annoying...
Firefox here, and I'm also getting the text overlays on the mainpage (for example, on this post with the picture and date/author, but I'm guessing you know that) not so much when expanded for comments and everything spreads out.
I really like the new fonts, sizing, and layout ideas (once the overlays are fixed). As it is now though, there is waaaay too much white space on the right, with all of the content bunched up against the ad side-bar on the left.
Definitely don't dig the comment authors listed to the right of the comment. I kind of like seeing who wrote what I'm reading before i read it.
Also not uber-keen on the "latest comment" feature on the front-page. It just looks kind of messy.
More Gobot than Transformer at this point, but it's got some potential, length, and upside.
Here is an IE 7/Vista screenshot. Note the horizontal scrollbar -- the scrollbar only disappears when the page is resized to ~90% the width of my display (1280 px) -- so IE thinks the page is insanely wide:

I get a lot of text overlay on the right, with peoples comments over their names/reply times on IE7..
Needed Improvements:
1. Increase picture and headline font size on posts.
2. The sidebar doesn't really fit with the page.
3. Get rid of that long list of links at the bottom.
I still love ya Giz, the layout still owns Engadget's, but theres a lot room for improvement.
