Nextfest: Video Recap of the Technology Convention That Wired Built
Nextfest, the big convention in New York City that showcased tomorrow's technology (today!) just wrapped up and we've got a nice video recap for your prying eyes. Some of the highlights include virtual kayaking, a robot bartender and, the coup de grâce, a desperate housewife trying to pick up a hot stud robot. Unfortunately for the girl, the robot was a surly jerk. -

Next Fest 2006: Automatic Door
Not the kind you're used to. This door has many slats with infrared sensors on their tips. When you walk up to it, the slats slide out of the way, conforming to your body. We've written about this, but here's a video of it in action. -

Nextfest: Playing With Virtual Balls
While sneaking around Nextfest, the big technology conference that's happening this weekend in New York City, Richard managed to take some footage of a giant table game starring big virtual balls. This video shows men and women "holding" the virtual balls, "rolling" the virtual balls and just generally having a good time with said balls. Nextfest, where dreams come true. (Awful jokes aside, it really is a pretty interesting technology.)
