    Nokia N80 Gets FCC Nod

Earlier this month when Nokia first dropped the news of the N80, top brass said it would not be on the market in the US until the first quarter of 2006. But now that both the N80 and N71 have received FCC approval — partially, at least — there is a chance these N-phones will go to market early. Or maybe it's just the leftover Thanksgiving tryptophan making me feel all dreamy.

Just to recap the N80: It's a Symbian phone, outfitted with a 3-megapixel camera, MP3 player, and an updated browser based on the code for Apple's Safari. People with access to high speed 3G nets will probably also be able to make video calls with this beauty. Even with a mini-SD slot, it's still smaller than the N70. Should set you back a cool $600.
