The price of an 8GB iPhone just got lower, and the 4GB iPhone is on its way out, according to Apple CEO Steve Jobs. He announced the 8GB iPhone's new price will be $399, down $200 from its original $599 price. Well now, how does that make those of us early adopters who dropped $600 on the first ones feel? Hmm.

That's just mean.
Steve, you're going down. This is beyond bitter. Are you a Nazi?
Oh, snap!
cocksucker!!
Haha, thats the fastest price drop I've ever seen Apple do.
i feel really bad for all the iphone owners right now that really sucks
I'd just like to be the first to say that this is utter BULLSHIT.
Can we early adopters get a rebate or something at least?
Wow. I actually feel like a dope. Ok, that happens every day, but this makes me feel awful. I'm really disappointed.
Ouch!
Huh. Glad I didn't buy one. Sorry to all of you who did. But, I gotta hand it to Apple, it's shitty, but they're going to sell a lot more Iphones this xmas now.
suck it up, you wanted to be the coolest kid on the block and you were for a few weeks. isn't that worth atleast $200?
AT&T has stroke. So does that eman for a limited time(like today and tomorrow) you can get the 4GB iPhone for 299?
That's just wrong. Only 69 days and $200.
I'd be happy with a $200 i tunes credit.
Start the revolt, everyone smash your phones.
*Nelson Muntz voice* HA-ha!
I guess I paid $200 for bragging rights.
@JJ_Dub:
no, you can't. a fool and his gold and all....
One word for the early adopters:
Suckers!
I'm going to demand my $200 back.... seriously it's only been 2 months.
Didnt they do vouchers when they dropped the price of Apeture after only a few months? They need to do that agiain, or there will be quite a few angry people out there, including me.
@JJ_Dub:
Suck it up! You knew it was going to happen. It's the early adopter tax.
The early adopters made it possible to have the price reduction. Chill, guys, you thought you'd have the best deal forever?
It always costs more to be an early adopter. Price any high end Pentiums lately?
HAHA! DUMBASSES!
I know how it makes this fence sitter feel...
Anyone know how well the unlocked iphones function on T-Mobile?
man, what a kick in the nuts
Sucks for me. Damn. I mean, damn. Seriously. Damn.
i love it!!! guess it is time to go buy one. good call on trying to find a 4gb for cheap!
Like a full cavity search in Customs without K-Y!
I was there with my $599 in hand on June 30th and I have no regrets. Being an early adopter means watching newer, better, cheaper versions of your toy come out. Come to think of it, being a late adopter means the same thing.
the only reason they ever sold it for $599 is they knew there was a whole bunch of people who could afford it and who wanted it badly. it was an excellent bit of price discrimination. we all paid about as much as we were willing to pay, and with us out of the way and our money successfully collected, they move on to those who were only willing to pay $399. meanwhile, they are still turning a tidy profit, just not an absolutely insane profit, like before.
Well, what else we can say! Thats is totally the betrayal for the iPhone Early Adopter!
I vote for the Rebate or some kind of $200 iTune Gift Certificates!
Wow! You are mean! Steve!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Thats what all you losers that bought one so early deserve.
*evil grin*
a person who bought the iphone and signed a 2 year contract with the most unreliable service provider should not feel AS BAD AS the next apple fan boy who stood in line for the shiny stone outside an apple store for hours and hours and crapped in their pants.....
sorry guys - but that didnt pay off now did it?
oh shut up, if you can afford a $600 phone you can afford to deal with a price break for those of us who weren't so hasty. besides, it's not as if apple is charging early adopters $200 more NOW. the bottom line is, it was obviously worth $600 to you when you bought it. or else you wouldn't have.
Steve, I'm really pissed... I am a faithful early adopter, and THIS is how you repay me?!
eat that, early adopters!!!
hahhaahaahhhaaa, I had decided to wait, and it saves me $200 bucks. Nice!!!! I think that they will bring the 16Gig phone soon.
this outrage at other people copping a better price, it's like financial shaudenfreud, i got ripped off, so everyone else should be ripped off or i should get my money back.
do me a favor and go shoot whoever it was that told you the world was fair when you were a kid. we dont need that shit spreading around. TANSTAAFL.
They must be really disappointed with the iPhone sales. Look how long it took Sony to drop the PS3 price and that was only a $100.
Why's everyone crying? Early adopters ALWAYS pay more!! What did you expect? You pay more and bring the price down for all of us.
Babies.
I can honestly say this is the biggest insult I've ever seen in terms of violating the early adopters of this product. They have been the biggest advocates of the phone. The one's who've been more than happy to do the demo of the product to anyone who "oohed and aahed". The one's who would consistently say "yeah, the EDGE isn't that bad". The ones who lined up for the device. Cutting the price by $50 would have been one thing, but to cut the price by 33%? I'm sure most of the fanboys are used to the "next biggest, hottest, best new Mac" coming out, and dealing with the price drops there - but 8 weeks after it launches, to cut the price by 33%, for EXACTLY THE SAME PRODUCT?
That's just mean, and irresponsible. I think it's time for some class-action communication against Mr Jobs to get some sort of rebate, or refund or something. I've never thought I'd have to come to this conclusion - it's just sad, Steve.
Yes, being a long time Windows guy, the iPhone was the product which brought me over to the dark side. It's interface is unmatched and years ahead of anything Microsoft can produce.
I paid my $599, and having this happen so quickly will ABSOLUTELY result in my second guessing any future Apple purchase. Bragging rights are great and all, and I understand that all things must come down in price, but this is typically when sales are HURTING or a newer, better model is released and they need to unload old stock.
I suppose this is a loss leader for Apple, who intends on selling the units possibly at a loss, to recoup via WiFi iTunes, ringers and who knows what else. The game industry has done it for years.
Oh well. Live and learn!
hahahaha
bllooowwsssssss
I love Helio, but man am I glad I'm no longer in-store trying to sell Oceans after this price drop...
So does this mean we might see them reintroduce the $600 price with 3G? cause that would cooooo..
ahhahahahahahahahahahahahah.....
this is awesome....great news YEYE!!!!!
HA-HA!!! Now the question is: iPod Classic, iPhone, or iPod Touch. choices, choices... Maybe I'll get an iPhone and an iPod Classic for about the same price people paid for the iPhone two days ago. :D
Hey - welcome to the Western consumer markets!
$200 to be first - no problem in this case
Glad to see Apple respond to the markets and go for a lower price point for more sales - nice move!
200 is a huge price cut so early
i dont own one and i'll probarly never will but i like the phone even more now
Time to get one!! Or should I just get the Touch? The only difference is the phone function and no monthly fee on top!
damnnnn $200? I'm gonna see what my CC company can do.
Credit on our phone bills?
Unlimited text messages for life?
How about $200 credit at the Apple store?
Anything- but penalizing early adopters is just wrong.
However, I'd give anything to be able to search contacts.
Jealousy is such a petty thing. Poor saps who couldn't afford an iPhone and resented those of us who could, laughing at the price drop. Sad, really. But whatever makes your little lives happier, I suppose.
meant:
"So does this mean we might see them reintroduce the $600 price with 3G? cause that would be cooooo.."
in my earlier comment
Steve you fucking cunt.
sucks even more for 4-gig iphone buyers(like me).
