Carajo de boombox de los cojones, brothels! Check out those ghetto colors and speakers in that Lasonic dock-to-go for the iPod, mamasita! Or like they call it, the "high performance music system." Arriba! The 15-pound boombox comes with all kinds of flashy lights and 2 x 15W speakers. Not amazing power, but enough pa tocar el ChacarrĂ³n! After the jump.

reminds me of my high school days. and...really...how ingenious to provide a portable ipod docking system with a handle for camping or the beach.
simplicity is underrated.
out.
Can you make a last-minute entry into your Battlemodo? Please?
STEREO(type)!
Umm.. were you looking for a reason to post that video? Although very funny, what does it have to do with the ipod dock? Your first sentence translates to: "Crap of boombox of the crap brothels"? The guy in the video made more sense.
You KNOW it's going to be a quality ghetto blaster when the prerelease product shots are done with Adobe Illustrator.
Soundblaster is that you?
50 D-cells no doubt. Does it have a retractable luggage handle and wheels?
Yeah, but does it shoot rockets?

Mamacita, por favor. Mamasita is something English-speakers invented.
What a horribly unreadable article.
@kuzum: Mamacita doesn't really exists in spanish. It's part of some latinamerican spanish dialects, but I doubt it's accepted by the spanish languange royal academy.
Mamasita is how you write the pronunciation of that word as some latinamerican and northamerican hispanic say it. That's why I wrote it that way. Just like brothels (I was going to write brodels, but then english-speakers would have thought I was referring to whorehouses instead of a badly pronounced brother).
I'm a spanish native, btw. Spent three years in Miami, with a lot of cubans, too.
@collins: Sorry you didn't like the article. Rather than adopting the classic african-american ghetto tone, I wanted to get the hispanic one, which I find more refreshing.
@karhi: The reason to put the video is because this is the kind of thing I would imagine people listening to in this boombox. What's call el perreo. The first sentence could be translated as: "this is one heck of bloody good boombox, brothers" (You can tell I am married to an english -from England- woman).
@judd: We can only hope. I will tell you when I try one at IFA (if it's available then).
Mamasita, I feel like a chimichanga now.
I did an iPod retro-fit to my '85 Lasonic a couple years back! Here it is:

@tarochan:
ROTFLMAO
80's at it's best, I'd start blasting Pump up the Volume, or Fight for your right as the first song on this thing..
Then in true ghetto fasion it'd get ducktaped onto the dashboard of my 92 Hyundai elantra.
I just want to see the blinkey lights.. every mans weakness.
Weird. This may actually be the reason I buy an iPod. Not because I want to make a statement about the deconstruction of the digital era, but because it neatly combines retro-cool with modern sound storage capabilities.
Err... can anyone tell me the purpose of the video? I got bored and stopped watching it about half way through. Are his glasses the iPod, while he is the boombox?
The video sounds like a retard imitating an airplane, or a car with a two-stroke engine.
SWEET! If I had one of these things, I'd be blasting my Public Enemy, NWA, and Run DMC.
@jesusdiaz:
All I've got to say is, "Odelay guey, que chingon!"
Fuera.
@jesusdiaz: Mamacita is the correct spelling.
Is Lasonic Mexican or something? why is everyone talking like that? My uncle used to have one of those things with a huge disco ball inside, Guess us mexicans are right up there with italian audio systems, They used glass, we use mirror.
@jesusdiaz: Thanks for clarifying. I imagine the "boombo" playing some old Planet Rock or Afrika Bambaata. Some kids breakin on a cardboard box with fat laces on their shell-toe addidas. Whatever, I wasn't trying to be an ahole. BTW I'm cuban, and i live in miami.
@crazygreekangelo: Nice mod! You shoud've patented it. doh!
Chongalicious!
I'm a Miami native, and currently sitting in Miami. It hurts a little. It also hurt a little that I totally understood the post and I'm not spanish and never took a spanish class after elementary school.
"Rather than adopting the classic african-american ghetto tone, I wanted to get the hispanic one, which I find more refreshing."
Try a trailer park hillbilly accent next time. That way you can match it with your latent racism. Prick!
