The Aliens Are Here! The Aliens Are Here!

Here are some UFOs flying over the beaches of Hawaii on August 6th. Here are some experimental Air Force planes passing by. Ah, the wonders of (amazing) computer graphics and brain implants. [Thank you, CIA, DoD, Jason Bourne, Jack Bauer and Fox News]

Damn you gizmodo for posting aaaawwwesome things that DOOO NOOOT EXXXISSSSTTTTT!!!!!

  • Hang on let me get my tin foil protection helmet...

  • I believe.

  • The government just wants you to believe its all computer graphics. Where's there a line to be "taken" and "probed"?

  • I, for one, welcome our tinker-toy overlords.

  • ooouuuuuuch

  • That's a Strogg Desecrator! QUAKE WARS! Where's the GDF?!
    Get some action via youtube.

I remember seeing this on another site. Someone pointed out that all the palm trees are the same. Think it's a viral video for some new movie or something.

  • @tarochan:

I highly doubt these are alien footage of alien space crafts. In my opinion I feel that if aliens were to make themselves be known it definitely wont be through youtube. There shouldn't be a line that should be taken. It would be clear as day if it was to be known.

Freeze it at 11 seconds, and you'll see what I mean.

  • An article with a retraction, correction, screw up, no confirmed source, or just something wrong... must be Jesus Diaz... bha! i'm right... again.
No offence dude, i love your photoshops.

  • More useless posts from the Giz...
    (insert disappointment here)

  • Yeah the jet engine sound as the big one passes overhead should be a dead giveaway too. That's fake as hell.

    @Abe:

    Get over yourself, and stfu.

  • In all seriousness, I do believe in visitors from other planets, simply because its stupid to think that intelligent life exists on this single, insignificant planet.... And what with a nanosecond in time of the universe, say 1000 years, the tens of thousands, perhaps even millions, of intelligent civilizations that undoubtedly had this type of head start (at the very least) would travel here as well as other inhabited planets. In my judgement, if you don't believe we're being visited by aliens you probably believe in God, and he's a white guy with a white beard who has created this huge universe 6000 years ago and did it all for you and me.

Someday video like this is going to be real, and its going to change things... in fact its probably the only thing that will save humans from killing each other off.

Imagine a fundamentalist christian or radical Islamist coming face to face with a being from another planet... "Oh, that prophet of yours? It's bullshit. A cousin of mine actually. Came here, started all kinds of shit, then left in hurry after he knocked up the local hooker." .... I live to see the expression on their faces when they are convinced everything they believe is nonsense...

This video, when I first saw it, sent a nice tingle up my spine, and my very first thought was "finally".... Imagine my disappointment.

  • @ extremecamera

agreed..! i am in the same boat as you. what if jesus was just an alien? imagine what humans from 500 bc would think of seeing say just a bic lighter? miracles, gifts from the gods..

however, i doubt humanity will survive to the point of us actually communicating w/E.T.s
our govts would probably end up starting an intergalactic war.. well, more of an intergalactic slaughter (us being on the receiving end)..

    just my conspiracy-laden .02.. heheh..

  • I haven't listened to it with sound but I reckon they've actually done a pretty good job with the video. Looks pretty damn real.

Very entertaining @ XtremeCamera. lol @ knocking up a local hooker. That must have been how JC performed all those miracles - he was a freaking grey!

  • Statistics would point out that we can't be alone. Then again, any fluke is possible and we just might be along. Who knows? I'm not waiting around to see if we are alone or not, I've got better things to do with my life.

I do tend to laugh when anyone brings up anything involving human religion and aliens. As if meeting aliens will convince anyone that their religion is false. Please, you must know nothing of zealots and/ or true believers.

You can learn a lot from observing the iFanboys here on Gizmodo.

  • @XtremeCamera: Earth is not insignificant. It's the origin and home of the human species. The most important place in the universe, for humans.

  • Image of Joseph Joseph at 07:02 PM on 08/16/07 *

This is bull. How come UFO's never come to the hood!?

  • Theres a huge forum thread on ATS about this video... Supposedly one of the people who worked on this, discusted by it being posted as 'real' is going to release evidence by tomorrow that proves these are fake...

Of course the simple fact that all the palm trees in the video are identical is a pretty good indicator before hand...

  • @rcarydon: Exactly. 'Significance' is, like most things, in the eye of the conscious beholder. As we are the ones judging it, Earth is the single most significant place that exists. If there are other beings out there, they would disagree, but I bet they'd think their life-sustaining hunk of rock was pretty goddamn significant too.

  • @JOS: WORD

  • It's for that new J.J. Abrams movie... 1-18-08
    [www.apple.com]

  • well.. maybe not... just watched the trailer again, sounds like that's a monster....
I still bet its for some movie

  • @XtremeCamera: Hey man, if you can believe in aliens, then why can't other people believe in a higher power? Just sayin'....

  • @vagrant: Naw... Desacrator wasn't that round.

  • Image of DeadWriter DeadWriter at 09:10 PM on 08/16/07 *

The audio has issues also. There is a lack of acoustic depth to the scene. If I were to guess, I think that Shake was used as the compositor. There are also problems with the synthetic focus pulling.

It's a good job. If its origin can't be definitively figured out, I would guess that we are all a part of footage test.

  • u fcuking g0t me there for a moment, felt my heart skipped a bit. damn giz this is why i soo lurv j00

  • When can we start dodging bullets?

  • @onlooker

hahah no dude...hell, go to the website. the new jj abraham movie is about a monster. hell, if u go to the website, you'll see claw marks in the statue of liberty. this is probably for a video game or something...or possibly was made just for the hell of it. its very good though...the reason it didnt get me was the very beginning because those ships just dont look like ufos to me...then i kinda thought it might be real...but then i realized as soon as i saw underneath the ship and all those other ufos show up that it was fake. realize that if that video was real, it would have been one of the biggest moments in human history and would have been all over every form of media in the world. people in the middle of no where in theird world countries would have heard about this shit. so for it to have just been on gizmodo is an automatic tell that its a fake.

  • I was inside one of those lights that night, they were taking sperm samples from me.

  • I like how they used the dawn/dusk time period to hide how CGI sux at shadows still.

  • Image of Joseph Joseph at 11:34 PM on 08/16/07 *

AIGHT GUYS I GOT IT. THIS VIDEO WAS MADE WITH
[vue6.com] :( sorry to ruin the party :).

  • In my professional opinion this is a very well done and solid matchmove piece. I am sure it was never meant to be taken as authentic. Match moving aka tracking is when you shoot footage then "track" that footage in an application like Boujou or PF Track, and then take the camera information and import it into a software package like Maya and integrate a cg element into the footage which would be the ships in this instance. I use this technique at work everyday and as I said earlier this is a very nice piece. The lighting is very nice, the grain on the footage matches, and even the light blooms match. This type of work is for entertainment not meant to be serious attempt at making a hoax. If it was I am sure the person would not put in sound fx, and duplicated palm tree sprites.

  • @extreme

the same thing you said can be reversed

BTW God is not a white guy with a white beard.

(in short , instead of a long post)

  • I have GOT to get me one-a deez!!!!

  • Image of huginn huginn at 12:01 AM on 08/17/07 *

isn't this halo 3 viral marketing

  • OMG, J.J. Abrams next movie is my birthday! I feel special.

  • Are you guys posting this late on purpose?

Seeing here so long after it first made the rounds kind of creeps me out actually ... are we still not sure what this footage is for??

There are other videos from other parts of the world too, check youtube... is this just some art kids' project? is this some viral adervtising? User made for no reason other than fun?

What is this creepy ass footage?!

  • @jos:

'Cuz Kang doesn't care about black people.

    [en.wikipedia.org]

  • That's pretty good animation. But as stated above by "DEAD_RED_EYES" - all the palm trees are exactly the same, maybe the aliens have cloned them... still a nice bit of animation anyway, a bit over the top the the out of focus look but otherwise great.

  • I do believe there is other life out there, but why would they come to earth, i bet they got tired of us during cold war and is now visiting other planets.

  • the truth is out there. so are lies.

  • @adkitchen:

    Trust No-one!

  • @jos: They're afraid they'll get jumped....

  • I want to believe.

  • ALL of the Palm trees are the same. You can tell by looking at any one of them around the video.

  • Want to hear some interesting theories about aliens backed up by tons of research? Google "Michael Tsarion"

  • Why would someone put it that much effort, do a seemingly impressive job, just to use the same palm tree? How hard would it have been to add another, or atleast rotate a few of them?

  • @XtremeCamera: I like to imagine as much as the next guy, however I'd like to point out the mathmatical possibility (given the vastness of space) that an alien species would be able to find us. Now it is just about mathmatically impossible for us to be alone in the universe, but what do you think the odds of another speices actually FINDING us. Obviously the closer we are to the alien race in question the odds are better, but there is no evidence that there are any aliens anywhere near us.

I have mixed views... Given the unlikely theory of evolution (read Darwins black box), and how strong the evidence that God exists I tend to believe that God does exist.

I also believe it's not impossible that God would have created other life forms on other planets.

Enough about this crap... I'll believe it when I see hot alien women cleavage! Bring on the boobs!

  • I love seeing how smart some people think they sound. Too bad the opposite is true.

  • It would be incredibly egotistical to think that we're the only intelligent life in the universe.

Unfortunately it's equally egotistical to think that any advanced race, capable of FTL travel, would find anything remotely of interest here.

Video is fake BTW. Probably viral Halo 3 ad.

  • The palm trees are NOT the same. They are similar, but not identical. They're palm trees, that's what they look like. I can't say whether the video is real or not, but the trees are not the deciding factor.

Sure, I believe in aliens. I also believe in God, not as a mythical humanoid making decisions and passing judgement from on high, but more as a collective consciousness of all life (aliens included).

  • Where is the video? Am I f*ing retarded?

  • @mspaeth:

GOOD MAN! While I personally don't 100% believe we were engineered by warring alien races to be slaves, some of what he talks about is definitely food for thought.

Who's to say what's truth and what isn't?

    No one.
