Although steampunk laptop mod was cool, if a bit unpractical, forcing steampunk fans back to their holes to re-read their dog-eared copy of The Difference Engine for the 48th time. But with this Steampunk keyboard mod, (almost) anybody can take an IBM Model M keyboard and turn it into a work of art. Kinda.

Oooooh, I want that!
The site can't handle all the visiters from this posting. I'm having trouble getting into it.
wow - that actually looks REALLY slick - i wouldnt mind having one of those...
of course, it doesnt look like itll be the easiest thing to use...

thats the awesomest keyboard ever!!!
It is really sweet. I'd buy one in a heartbeat (cuz I'm too lazy to make my own). The metal work really sets it apart, and the indicator lights are a nice touch. It would appeal to me ever-so-slightly more if it had a wood veneer in lieu of the felt backing, but it's a great job. Nice work!
Looks totally awesome except for the curly 80's phone cable, of all the options available why that?
This is one of the most interesting take on the keyboard that I've ever seen, and definitely attractive.
Oh, and the site has been featured on Make, Digg, and probably several other sites besides so no wonder it's FUBAR.
I'm with the people above. If this were commercialized, I'd buy it in an instant!

I like it. I would have gone with leather instead of the felt. That cord is hideous. I would have gone with a cloth covered type, or some 1/4" flexible conduit.
Oh, that's gorgeous. Totally my kind of keyboard. Wonder where I can find a couple of typewriters to sacrifice to the cause?
GrandpaSeth makes a great call on the leather and cord. It should have one of those woven Steam Iron cords with the hemispherical plug. I want to know if the entire keyboard moves and makes a big "clunk" when you use the Shift key!
OMG SEXY KEYBOARD. I can't help but wonder if it's setup on the user's machine so that the return makes a "rrrrrrek DING" noise when you press ENTER.
Please, keyboardmakers, notice the interest on this page. I want one of those! And if it came combined with the typewriter soundbites, as deusdiabolus suggested, that would just be cream on top.
I want one too...it's gorgeous. I so love steampunk...
"I never told a lie that wasn't true."
"I'm here because I'm not all there."
I really love this. I don't think I'd use it but I love the idea of a whole computer done like this. Or may just a remote control? We need steampunk to come into style in a big way. It'd be fun.
