The TRUS USB drive has a feature we wish all USB flash drives had: an indicator showing remaining capacity. It's green, too, soaking up just enough solar power to run its LED LCD, clearly showing you how much drive space you have left without the need for plugging it into a USB port and checking for yourself.
There's precious little other information about this drive, but maybe all the other flash drive manufacturers might take a cue from this. Gentlemen, start your copiers.

Add blue tooth so it can message your phone to tell you to get milk on your way home (unlike your wife who waits to remind you 3 feet from the front door).
This is really a great idea. Seems like an obvious thing to do in hindsight. Gotta love when simple things are improved.
The only flaw in this is that it would require an IT Professional to be exposed to sunshine to work.
You can do one better: http://www.mydidigo.com/products/multmedia_2detail.asp?C3=...
This USB key features a bi-stable cholesteric LCD that gets updated when the key is plugged in and doesn't require any power to stay on ! In addition to showing remaining capacity, it also shows the 16-character drive label, which you can assign to be anything, including your name.
Though this key doesn't seem to be available for sale directly for the company, it most certainly has been released to stores -- I own this exact key with CompUSAs brand name.
cool, where can i get this?
version 2.1 can also charge your notebook, pda, ipod, cell phone, and your electric car.

I think you mean LCD
I saw something like this at Fry's a couple of days ago. No solar panel, though. Didn't look like it had provision for a battery, either, but it claimed that the display remained on even when the drive was unplugged.
So, why's this need a solar panel? Marketing, perchance?
Lexar has a JumpDrive Mercury that shows a small graph of free space that remains when it's unplugged, because the LCD "sticks".
