Verbatim's small Hi-Speed drive just got bigger, with a 12Gb capacity. The new Store 'n' Go weighs in at 28 grams and comes pre-loaded with Mobile Launchpad, so you can download applications to run directly from the USB HD disc. If you're not filling it with your cellphone database, passwords and anything else you need on the go, this is what else you can play with - eight hours of MPEG-1 video 3,000 hours' worth of MP3s, or 6,000 colour photos. Expect to pay around $195.

I couldn't find any data on HD speed.
Are they fast?
I think if I was going to buy a usb powered HDD, I'd probably get something in the 120GB range
Good luck finding a 120GB HDD that weighs 28 grams.
True, Sean O, but the price is ridiculous. It might be a lot heavier, but I'd rather toss a harddrive enclosure in my bag and get a ton more room then have something piddly just to put in my pocket.
HEll, for 500 bucks I could carry around a terabyte. I won't like lugging it, but I could.
Again, not practical, but I'm from the Cheap Assholes fanboy group.
I have an 8 gig version of the "store n go"
Pretty nice little drive! The small size and weight means it comes with me more often! It's very quiet and has decent transfer rates, although I think it has to be spinning around 3500 rpm.
You can get a 16MB USB flash drive for under $200 (from reputable vendors, not lowball operators). Unless you need constant write ability, a flash drive is probably better.
Grr, I meant 16GB, not MB. Sorry.
3000 hours? Shouldn't that be 3000 songs (about 200 hours)?
Of course, that's assuming it has a 12GB capacity, not 12Gb(Gigabits) as the link title indicates. :P
This is a horrible deal.
I can't think of a single advantage that these mini HD drives have over flash drives. Corsair already makes a 16gb flash drive thats much faster, stronger, and cheaper.
hmm, lets see, 200 dollars for a 12gb drive, or 50 bucks for a 300 gig hdd and 16 bucks for an external case?
Them thier math isnt computating pa! wheres my shotgun!
