The recently released Sansa View may already in line for an upgrade if some leaked info on the ScanDisk website is anything to go by. The link revealed listings for devices with 8, 16 and 32GB capacities with the high end price topping out at $330. And since a 32GB Sansa View does not currently exist, we can only assume that one will be released sometime in the near future. Not a confirmation by any means, but if you are planning on picking up a Sansa View, you might want to wait a little longer if a higher capacity interests you. [Dapreview]

~~$10 a gig, 40 hours audio, 8 hours video...not too shabby. Just hoping the interface will be good. And the vids. It's a shame the battery isn't user removable and there's no tv out.
I'm pretty sure that's SanDisk, not ScanDisk
Sansa has always been the poor mans MP3 player of choice. God bless them for sticking to the bottom feeder market.
I like the blue ring
@kibets:
Well it's profitable for them. They're #2 in marketshare for flash.
I do think the price will be around 300 when the 32GB is officially announced. Just think, the 8GB is 149, but you get double that for 50.00 more.

@kibets: Its funny because its true. I bought an e260 for $100 last year, while wishing I could get a Nano but no video support and no drag and drop on the Nano.
I'm happy with my Meizu but I'd like an iTouch for free.
wow... 32 gb flash, they finally started doing that! I wonder when Microsoft will make a 32 GB flash Zune, or Apple making a 32 gb Ipod... I wouldn't buy the sansa, mostly 'cause of the screen size and the interface.
This is pretty cool. I see no use it attempting to watch a movie on such tiny screens, so all I'd use it for is music. Thus, I do not require a 160Gb iPod, and I'd never manage to listen to all that music in the first place. I like the size of this and dig the little blue ring, which would be helpful in low-light use.
Only thing is, I want it to come in pink... people tend to not bother to try and steal pink PMP's/DAP's. They're really easy to spot and guys often have some weird hangup about pink. Help me out, SanDisk.

32 GB flash for 330 bucks is amazing.
The Rhapsody software is awful! Takes forever to go thru your songs on your sansa just so you can load more. The process is a pain in the ass and i wouldnt buy another just for that reason. Rhapsody sux!
I have a 6gb Sansa now and yes it is a poormans mp3 player. It wasnt real cheap pricewise but it should be. The volume doesnt go as load as the ipod or Creative lines, it freezes up on me sometimes, and the video editer doesnt work with my computer.
Needless to say i dont use it as much as id like because it is a pain to add stuff to it. Im going to get an ipod touch when i upgrade.
I do like the radio in it and it works better than thre radio in the creative players. Dont know why ipod doesnt include a radio in theirs.
@thepounder: I hate it when it double-posts. Yarrrgh.
I wish they made the scroll wheel out of aluminum or something other than plastic.....I had a 6GB model of some sort from them, and I just could not stand the physical plastic ring you had to move around to scroll....
Cant see my post so i dont know if it went thru or not.
@kibets: call me cheap if I will but I'd rather pay Sandisk's prices than Apple's.
I read the first impressions of a guy over at DAPreview who's just bought one of these. The firmware could do with a few bugs being ironed out but the sound quality is supposed to be excellent.
I've got an 8GB Sansa and I absolutely love it! The sound is incredible, the controls and features are fantastic - Video, Photos, FM Radio... and the price tag of mine was under $120 on a bargain deal sale from Amazon late last year. This thing is SOOOOO much more "friendly" than an iPod when it comes to connecting to a system and doing something with it. You can literally drag and drop directly onto the Sansa - just like a Flash hard drive.
For all those people who are afraid to ditch iTunes - you can still use iTunes and not use an iPod - it just takes a little bit of learning and know-how to make it work smoothly.
I'd recommend this for anyone - NOT JUST THE BOTTOM FEEDERS as was mentioned before. Their products keep getting better and better. I'm just waiting for them to come out with an MP3 player that has a WiFi internet browser - then all of my "needs" would be met.
@bsbeamer: Say it, brother.
My wife and I love our E280s.
kibets,
just try a sansa, bro, you'll never feel like typing another fanboI post just to spite one brand. We own and use 6 different brand names between mp3 & pmp's in the house and aren't rabid about a single one of them. They all have +'s & -'s, including the hallowed Epod. :)
@ConstyXIV: Why do you think so many people don't realize that ScanDisk is actually SanDisk? It's really interesting.
If only Apple could offer the features and price of Sandisk.....but they can't. Sorry fanboys, Sandisk smokes Apple in the flash player genre.
I have an e260 and the replaceable battery was a selling pint for me, but honestly, I am getting ready to trade in the e260 after 2 years and the battery still gets 20 hours of play time, so user replaceable batteries are over rated when a manufacturer make a good product that lasts.
actually, they probably can, they just won't. why lower the price by $50 when you can take it in as profit? they've got enough fanbase to set any slightly-higher-than-reasonable price they want.
@slaughter: Totally in agreement here. I bought my e260 a week after it was released, and it hasn't failed me yet. I should probably mention that my e260 has been playing for at least 8 hours a day, at work, since day one... Although, my music collection has grown past the 4GB at-a-time limit (without a microSD, mind you), and I'm actually in the market for a new player... this new one might seem to be a fitting replacement!
I really don't regard Sansa's as second-rate.
I just recently bought the 8gb for $120 at Best Buy and it's great. Though in concept the Rhapsody is a good idea, I ended up ditching it for my old MusicMatch software. Direct loaded my songs on the Sansa, the only problem is I can't do playlists.
I would have been tempted to get a 16GB and ditch my thumbdrive if it was available at the time. I just wish they had gone with a mini-usb or other 'standard' connector. Cell phones are moving to a standard across brands, when will mp3 players do so?
*chimes in to pimp the e280*
The microSD cards drain the battery.
The database refresh takes forever (and happens everytime you boot with a microSD installed)
Same with the blue wheel, battery drain!
Get rockbox. And turn the stupid blue wheel light off. It's completely useless (unless you need an impromptu flashlight.)
