Pokémon Motivates Lazy Kids with Poké Walker

Children who want to level up their monsters in two new Pokémon remakes will still need to wander around aimlessly for hours on end, but this time that wandering will be in real life.

Pokémon "Heart" Gold and Poké "Soul" Silver will be bundled with the new Poké Walker peripheral, a pedometer that can hold one deadly but cute Pokémon at a time. As the player walks, the Pokémon gains XP and pedometer earns extra watts, the game's currency. All of this data is fed back into the DS game through the IR port (integrated into the games' cartridges) so that the newly fit child can continue his underground animal fight club.

The new Pokémon titles will be around this fall in Japan before hopefully making their way to the DS. [Kotaku]

Pokémon X-Ray Allows for Peekatchu

Since no child says "invasive surgery, I choose you!!" the Pokémon X-ray machine should soon add some smiles to 30 Japanese ICUs.

Designed with a Pokémon (Diamond and Pearl) theme, this portable X-ray machine is meant to calm children who, unfortunately, need to be pokéd and prodded a bit more before they will actually feel better. And while it's mostly just a bunch of decals slapped on a machine, those pokéball wheels are absolutely adorable. Do I need to say it again? Adorable. [ Kotaku]

Pokemon DS Lite Hits US, Only Slightly Embarrassing to Own

The limited-edition Pokemon DS Lite was actually released in Japan back in 2006, but is just now showing up in a Gamestop ad in the US. The flashy, surprisingly mature paintjob features Dialga and Palkia, the two Pokemon—Pokemons? Pokemen?—from the Diamond and Pearl covers. It looks to come with a nice bundle, including carrying case, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DVD "special," a poster of Grovyle and a Pokemon t-shirt. I prefer the even artier Honeybee DS Lite, but if you're dying for some Poke-branding this side of the Pacific, you could do worse than pick this up for the standard $130. [GoNintendo]

Pokemon Legos Make Dialga and Palkia Even Awesomer

Mega Bloks may not be as cool as LEGOs, but do LEGOs form together and build Dialga and Palkia, the two legendary Pokemon from the two newest Pokemon games? We think not.

Not only can you form these creatures and wreak havok on time and space (we forget which is which), there are a few other little blocks with faces of various other Pokemon on there as well. We'll save our dignity by pretending we don't know the names of all of them. $43 each.

This sunny-side-up DS Lite is the limited edition result of a love-in with PIkachu and Nintendo. However, the bad news is that there's no guarantee you'll get your paws on one, as this yella fella with Pikachu etched on the cover is so limited that it's only available via a lottery system (and $139). If you live in Japan, get yourself down to the Pokemon Center and on the list from July 20 onwards. – Ad Dugdale

The Wassup Speaker Looks Like a Pokemon, is Ten Years Too Late On Catchphrase

The strange company b2 has announced their newest speaker line, the Wassup. Normally naming a speaker "Wassup" would be strange enough, but these guys have put in the extra effort and made their speaker shaped like a rabbit Pokemon. Buneary, is what we'd say it was.

There's no doubt these speakers are going to sound fantastic when they're released this July for $25, so we're preordering a whole bunch right now. Stay tuned for our 10 page review of this as well, since we know you're totally excited too. – Jason Chen
