Lazy Porsche Demands Elevator Service
At first, the organizers of the Shanghai Motor Show probably thought Porsche was joking when they suggested holding a press conference for their Panamera sedan on the 94th floor of an office building. They weren't. More » -

Porsche P'9522 Cellphone Lacks 3G, Has GPS For Navigating Your Porsche
Porsche has kicked out cellphones before: but none so capable as the upcoming P'9522. It's a butch but sweetly-minimal design flip phone, with a rotating screen, and it's just got its FCC pass so it should be on the way here soon. Among its many features, it sadly lacks 3G connectivity, but the rest—including on-board GPS—almost make up for that. More » -

I Always Wanted Me a Porsche
Porsche is now offering online tools to photoshop your favorite model in front of your home. Just hit the link and click on "picture it." As you can see, a $100,000 sports car really classes up the joint. [Porsche via AB] -

Sagem Porsche P'9521 Hands On (Verdict: Nifty)
We're jealous. The guys at the Brit division of Crave got their greasy paws on that gorgeous Sagem Porsche P'9521 cellphone we showed you the other day. Making us feel even worse is the fact that they liked it a lot, writing in their dignified-sounding British way, "It's not just a piece of rubbish with a Porsche logo on it—it is in fact a rather nifty clamshell handset." Sagem Porsche P'9521 Cellphone Looking Good in Amsterdam Grope Session
The Sagem Porsche P'9521 cellphone has resurfaced after its initial intro we showed you last June, and this time there are clean and sexy pics along with some first impressions from LetsGoMobile. The phone will be available sometime before Christmas exclusively at The Phone House for a Porsche-like price of €1200 ($1685). Egads, that would be a helluva Xmas present. The Amsterdam grope revealed a "tight, stylish design based on aluminum and glass," and the phone was said to have a "beautiful design." See for yourself. Even though it's thick and heavy, its spec list is otherwise fairly standard. But weeee-doggies, check out that cellphone porn. More » -

Porsche 911 PlayStation 3/PC Steering Wheel
It's not every day that an actual automaker creates a steering wheel for console gaming, so this Porsche 911 setup is especially awesome. It's a "fully licensed, to-spec reproduction," which means the wheel, the 6+1 gear sticks, and the wireless pedals are all as authentic as you're going to get in your living room. It's all wireless, has force feedback, an extra sequential gear stick, a 100-hour battery life, table clamps and works with your PS3 and PC, plus comes with a Porsche USB stick to show off to the (nerdy) ladies. Available later this year for $350. [Fanatec via Jalopnik] -

Porsche P'7911 Design Multihammer Power Drill - the Apostrophe is All-Important
Toasters, kettles, sunglasses, coffee makers, cellphones—now add drills to the endless list of things made by Porsche that don't have five wheels and go "Vroom!". They've gotten into bed with German tool company Metabo and have come up with an (admittedly) super-sexy drill that is made of carbon fibre and aluminum. The price and a couple more pics are after the jump. More » -

Porsche-designed Nespresso Machine Empties Your Wallet Faster
In case that Swarovski espresso machine was too gaudy for your tastes, Nespresso has teamed up with Porsche Design to bring you this piece of kitchen gadgetry. The Porsche Phone: Look Ma, No Taste
Before you get all over-excited and think that the German carmaker is about to team up with Vertu, à la Ferrari, think again, because the Porsche people are far too cool to do that, preferring to redeploy their technology to the kitchen toward sleek toasters and kettles. More » -

First Fearless Porsche Yacht
Porsche Design and Miami-based boat maker Fearless have teamed up to build a yacht that makes a 911 look like a tonka truck. And, it's a lot prettier than the other superboat we've been gawking at. The $300K fiberglass-hulled boat is 28-feet long, and powered strangely enough by a 525-hp Dodge Viper engine. (What, no 911 Turbo powerplant?) More » -

Tech Intermission: Check Out the New Porsche!
Yup, figured I'd give you a quick break from all the tech to take a look-see at the brand new Porsche Cayman S, shown at the Greater LA Auto Show, which is also going on this week. So basically, the biggest geeks in the world are all over on the West Coast right now. The Vertu Porsche Boxster Test
Vertu, maker of expensive phones, recently got some credibility handed to them it seems. The company is marketing their Ascent Motorsport Edition, which is an ultra-luxurious phone made with petroleum-resistant automotive leather inlaid with carbon fiber and Liquidmetal—you know, the stuff the future Terminator was made of. In short, it's strong. So Vertu claimed the phone could be run over by the very car it was based on: an F1 Porsche. So the New York Times called bull and got one of these phones and ran over that thing five times with a Porsche Boxster. Oh, no! What horrible things happened to the expensive Vertu phone, you ask?! Nothing. Nada. Not a scratch. Score one for Vertu. More » -

F.A. Porsche Humidor
You know, for something like this, I don't even really have to try and make it sound exciting or whatever. It's a three-cigar pocket humidor from Porsche called "Robusto". That one line right there should do the trick for most people. If you're one of those finicky types who cares about details, then you should also know it's made from woven carbon fiber and cedar veneer, and is covered in multiple hand-applied layers of polyester varnish. There's also a two cigar version that goes by the uninspiring name of "Corona" and a one-cigar "Churchill". More » -
