Damn, I haven't even finished my morning coffee and toast and this is the second Zune post. I am really sick of this thing, but I will give in and show this teaser video that GenerationMP3 found. Nowhere in this mysterious commercial is Zune mentioned or directly shown, but at the end it does say "The Future of Entertainment" and "Summer 2006" which leads to believe it is somewhat Zune related. Kind of neat, kind of stupid—just release the damn thing already.

Didn't you guys post this video a while back, thinking it was related to UMPCs?
And you're sick of this, but not sick of sharing every retarded iPod accessory ever released? mmhmmm...
The only thing that commercial inspired me to buy was an album by whoever did the music. Anyone know who that groovy song was by?
Seriously this teaser is weak. It involves nothing to do with entertainment. From my point of view, Microsoft is trying to market the "Zune" like the XBOX 360 and the UMPC. However, the marketing of an entertainment device is not the same as marketing computer systems or "PCs". If Microsoft IS ableto penetrate the entertainment market, it will change the market.
One thing the Zune's "let's throw caution to the NDA" esque ad campaign has taught me, is as much as Apple's secrecy annoys me, it's far better than the drip-fed publicity that MS are feeding Gizmodo and Engadget with. If you're planning on releasing this, fine, just tell us and get it over with.
Anyone else remember the Samsung or Panasonic (one of those TV guys) had a stupid ad campaign called "what is everybody looking at" or "staring at" (ah, how the memory goes.) Anyway, it was this long boring sequence of people stopping and staring at something that the viewer (you) couldn't see. Until it was unveiled later that year.
Ahem cough cough...RIPOFF...cough.
There was an ad campaign in the 80's that alot may remember ( showing my age here, I know). It featured a car, the new Ford Escort, draped in the American flag. They didn't show the car though, as it was covered by the flag for a number of commercials until they were finally ready to reveal it... And when they finally reviewed it? All the buzz died immediately! They revealed an ugly car that everybody pretty much laughed at once they finally got to see it. Now I know the Escort may have sold pretty well in the long run, but I will never forget how many people laughed when they finally took the flag off the car!
So I guess that internal video Microsoft made about bad advertising really didn't effect much change. Yeah, it's hard to make people "get it" who just can't.
Let's see, who's the target market? Um... EVERYONE! You can almost see the committee at work on this one.
Nice way to focus.
I think the thing that entertains me the most about the commercial is the guy near the start who is supposed to be the Apple guy with the "expensive worn jeans, ironic t-shirt, and pretentious film school glasses."
As far as the Apple secrecy goes, it hasn't seemed to hurt them so far with the iPod...
I dont know. I have my doubts if this is even for the Zune. The first group of people are watching a TV, the second group (the one with the lady and two girls behind her) are looking at a laptop and only the last group is looking at a handheld system.
This could very well be a teaser for the integrated Live service MS bringing out now. I know they want to integrate the Zune into this service, so this could be for all items under the Live fold, including the 360.
This was a post 14 million minutes ago by you guys! SILLY GOOSERYS.
funny, that comment about the music. the only thing i could think of was "how the hell are you going to try to promote a music device with music this RUBBISH!?" ... seriously. nice general midi matrix soundtrack ripoff.
could be for Vista. diff flavors for diff shtuff
This teaser is waaaaaaaay too long. Boring!
I'd expect something a little better if you're trying to get people's attention, not this rubish...
That must be the Microsoft borg...

Note the same "The Future of Entertainment" and "Summer 2006" for this supposed UMPC/Origami advertisement.
