The plot is thickening: it has yet to be confirmed, but it seems that Apple and Best Buy stores are no longer going to receive old Apple keyboards shipments. What could this mean?
The reader is claiming he discovered this while inquiring at the Apple Stores in Oakbrook and Michigan, He points out that they are still receiving iMacs, however. Likewise, the same reader reports that Best Buy is not receiving any old keyboards either.
Since we doubt Apple will be releasing just new keyboards this week, our money is in new iMacs and new Mac minis.

I'm freaking out man! I'm about to pee my pants over the excitement!!11one1!!one!1eleven!! Also, please bring new Mac Minis or their replacement. :)
you know a company has built itself an intriguing public image when the possibility of a new keyboard design is newsworthy
I still don't get the hype... I mean, it's keyboard.
If Apple suddenly decided to ship all iPods with touchscreens, now that would be another matter...
@Reverov: I think you forgot to use the {sarcasm} tags.
What about sub notebooks? I want sub notebooks!
Prediction: Apple is adding trackpads to their standard keyboard, so their desktop users will have multi-touch input same as their notebook users. Would be a nice way to expand this feature across their product line.
@sumocat: If they did that, wouldn't that be removing functionality since the mighty mouse has universal scroll and more buttons than a trackpad?
@omg-ponies: I'm pretty sure reverov is serious
trackpad on the keyboard is interesting, cheaper to make and easier to use than a touchscreen. It isn't removing funcitonality because you could still use a mightymouse. I think they both have their uses.
Personally I want to see a quad core with a nice graphics card in as small a package as possible. a taller mini would be fine...time to innovate form factors!
I am planning a building a MacMiniMedia Center. I would like to see a Mini upgrade. 2.4ghz, 2gb ram, 800FireWire for $799? I'd have a third Mac then...
I think we'll see an iMac upgrade similar to the MBP and that's it. :(
Great. Just in time for a new computer. Im holding off till end of September until something comes out.

Maybe this just means new keyboards. Nothing else. Too bad for the pathetic fanboys out there.
@Hvedhrungr:
well if theres new keyboards, theres a high possibility of new iMacs and Mac Mini's
that is why its news-worthy
I just want to see a new mac mini for the same price range with a little more storage and power. The idea around the mini excites me but the power it has currently almost disappoints. Plus if the mini comes with these "new keyboards" it really might be worth the possibly upped price. Im so excited
I expected one of you to mention it by now:
iTablets! iSlate? MacPad?
Of course, Axiotron beat them to it with their ModBook.
@jos: The trackpad on my MacBook is much more functional than a mighty mouse, in my opinion. I personally don't need to squeeze, grope, or any other of the strange offerings the mighty mouse has. My trackpad scrolls, clicks, "right" clicks, and does pretty much everything I need.
But I still doubt a trackpad will make it onto their new keyboard...
That trend seemed to fad in the early 90's.
Don't know if this is coincidence or not, but did you guys check out the apple store? Everything is still shipping in 24 hrs with free shipping except the Apple Keyboard, which is 1-3 weeks, not free. Looks like the first keyboards might be wired only though.

@jos: Who said anything about dropping the mouse?
I wonder if this means the old ones will go down in price. I love the old keyboard design, I may have to stock up.
