The BEAM Bot Club is offering a gift service that will provide the recipient with a new DIY BEAM Bot, once a month, for four months. The robots are part of the Biology, Electronics, Aesthetics, Mechanics (BEAM) range and are composed of basic analog circuits. The subscription cost $170 and includes solar and battery powered critters, among others.
So if you were having difficulty choosing a gift for your girlfriend this Christmas, Gizmodo has just pointed you in the right direction. If she doesn't love you after that, well, at least you have a small penis. Hang on, that's no conciliation—we tried. [Product Page via Wired]

I love beam stuff!
I'll have to print that and stick it between the pages of my wife's LIFE magazine come the holidays. ;)
If I'm not mistaken, Mark Tilden of Wowee is a BEAM guy from way back.
This stuff really is quite cool, but I've never gotten a homebrew BEAM bot to work.
Usually it was a case of not enough parts or parts too far out of range or me destroying something accidentally for one reason or another.
I can build stuff from schematics, but I don't have the math or formula retention to do circuit design.
This would be a great gift...for me. :D
@strider_mt2k: You seem so stoked at the idea, I'll personally drop your wife the hint come holiday season, drop me an email. Boy, do we love our readers at Gizmodo. The gift reminder service is closed to everyone else till further notice :P
LOL!
Thanks much!
Good idea: let someone else drop christmas present hints to your wife.
Bad idea: Letting anyone from Gizmodo contact your missus.
No offence Haroon, but I don't want my girlfriend knowing that i spend 80% of my life here.
LOL as if.
