BEAM Bot Says Send Your Loved Ones A Bouquet of Robots

botbot236.jpgThe BEAM Bot Club is offering a gift service that will provide the recipient with a new DIY BEAM Bot, once a month, for four months. The robots are part of the Biology, Electronics, Aesthetics, Mechanics (BEAM) range and are composed of basic analog circuits. The subscription cost $170 and includes solar and battery powered critters, among others.

    I love beam stuff!
    I'll have to print that and stick it between the pages of my wife's LIFE magazine come the holidays. ;)

    If I'm not mistaken, Mark Tilden of Wowee is a BEAM guy from way back.

    This stuff really is quite cool, but I've never gotten a homebrew BEAM bot to work.

    Usually it was a case of not enough parts or parts too far out of range or me destroying something accidentally for one reason or another.

    I can build stuff from schematics, but I don't have the math or formula retention to do circuit design.

    This would be a great gift...for me. :D
