It's a good thing he wasn't about two-inches taller, or they'd be cleaning his brains off the cement floor right now.
Robotic Arm Ride [hight3ch]
So much in love with shiny new toys, it's unnatural.

That is crazy stupid.
This is the missing clip from Jackass II right......?
bit close to the ground eh?
Is this what happens when you give the cleaning crew keys to "Robot Storage"?
I just cant believe what a blatant irresponsible use of technology i see here. and they are a company?
anyone know if they are hiring?
If that won't make ya loose your lunch, NOTHING WILL!
where can i buy, and how much will it cost?
I cringed every time his feet hit the floor. Two more inches and some doctor would be sewing them back on. Good candidate for the Darwin Awards.
One day, this thing will get pissed and start dashing humans against walls and whatnot. It already seems kind of anrgy.
The middle school I teach at seriously needs this for discipline. But, first, we'll need to decide whether it'll be a consequence or a reward.
It must be safe - they drew a giant white circle around it to keep the demons from escaping! Cool stuff, if you can't abuse the technology you work with every day, what's the point?
I was visualizing the arm snapping and the fat old dude falling off his seat..
The fat old dude falling out of this would probably be the SAFEST thing that could happen to him.
Oh, and the white circle only keeps demons out if its made of salt. Everybody knows that, even Dorita.
It would be funny if the arm stopped in the middle of its program and simply started smacking the guy against the ground.
I know I am sick.
Um... does it have a place to hook up my monitor in front of me, or do i need tv goggles??? Hook this bitch up to a good flight simulator, and I will never leave my robotic arm ever again
I have got to get me one of these.
Guys, these robots are designed to place components like 1/4" bolts with extreme precision. Do you REALLY think it would err by "a couple of inches" once it was programmed to throw the dude around?
Lego Land in California already has a ride exactly like this.

gadgetophile: yeah, but what are the tolerances on the 200lbs of manflab they strapped to it? Guy could've been hurt pretty good. Then it wouldn't have been funny. (It would have been hilarious.)
I can see it now, your local bar replaces their mechanical bull with one of these. You talk your drunk friend into going for a ride. You slip the operator guy a $20 and he hands over the control joystick and you shake the your friend until his brain hemorages and he craps his pants.
Good fun!
The funny thing is that it looks like that line was painted to represent the limit of the robots reach + a little extra.
But it's hardly a safe radius. All you need is someone with a loose shoe, or some really long legs, and someone is going to get a face full of shoe.
/note how people are sitting RIGHT at the edge, this is all kinds of crazy
That was the best thing I've seen for a while. The high-pitched giggles of the operators and viewers was exactly the encouragement I needed that this undertaking was done in a safe and secure environment.
Crazy bastards. I love 'em.
Very funny comment Jason, I laughed my a** off
Beat that, upcoming Transformers movie!
These are purpose-built rides. Well, don't know about this one, but they do exist. I've been on one in Scotland... right after downing six pints -- woohoo!!! This one may be a mod, but considering there are multiple ride programs/sequences shown in five videos on Google, it could also be purpose-built. The seat for one doesn't exactly look like it's been duct taped on there. It is smaller and more hardcore than the commercially accessible ones, though.

Is that you at the controls Mauro?!
I definitely tensed up a little bit, as I sure he did, when his head got so close the ground. They should have shown him getting out of the chair...seat clenched in his buttocks. :P
This would be better than the Wii.
Slogan: "Play 'til you puke."
It's all fun and games until your insurance agent gets a hold of that clip... I wonder what almost killing a guy seven times does to your insurance rates?
That being said, this looks like the best way EVER to kill 51 seconds (or 1 employee)
looks hella fun, and still lots safer than most of the work I did on the farm when I was a kid. Where's the waiting list to ride?
This is already a ride at Legoland USA based on this:
http://www.legoland.com/park/parkoverview/parkvideo/kt60.h...
You can choose the level of intensity from 1 to 5.
I've seen a similar thing done by a company trying to do virtual rollercoasters on Daily Planet on Discovery Channel.
Same concept - industrial robot with a seat attachment
These guys still have jobs? Cool.
This is a ride in roller coaster tycoon 3.... of course in the game it gets pissed off and has thoughts of destroying the humans and taking over the world while still being very popular with the riders.
omg....most stupid ass irresponsible disregard for human safety i have ever seen.........when can i try?
