These leaked Treo 500 ad shots from Alles Windows Mobile confirm the two-color rumor we posted about earlier. The two colors are grey/charcoal black and white, but the white one has its keyboard censored out for some reason. These are the best shots we've gotten so far, so drink them in, Treo fans. It's running Windows Mobile SmartPhone edition, not PocketPC edition. I don't think any SmartPhone editions feature a touchscreen.
OK, I am thoroughly confused...the 500 is NOT the Centro? 500 = Windows OS,no touchscreen, Vodaphone... Centro = Palm OS, touchscreen, Sprint?
How about posting the differences between this and the centro, is the touch screen the only difference
The white kbd seems to be the same. At least the layout. I don't like it (& I'm a treo fan). And I don't care what you call it (centro/500), they need more screen, less mega home buttons.
Ugly, it looks too much like the dash.
also, why did palm waste so much real estate and fill it in with plastic and huge call\end buttons?
It looks like the screen and or keyboard could have been bigger without making the device any larger.
The treo 680 and 750 were really nice designs but man, this thing blows.

I agree, that screen could have been much larger. Just like on my Treo 700. So much wasted real estate on too big buttons and excess plastic around the screen.
But will they at least be slimmer than the fat-assed 600/700's?

I think I kinda like this new design language. The only explanation I can think of for the split between this device and the one Sprint's getting is that Palm's shifting the Treo name to Windows Mobile devices and readying the Centro name for Palm OS (powered by Access, except if not) ones. That doesn't really make a lot of sense, but it would explain things (and go a long way toward standardizing Palm's weird Treo model nomenclature).

Does anyone really give a fuck about Palm? They are done. Died. Over. They were done when the 650 kept crashing, crashing, crashing. They have not had ONE innovation in nearly FOUR years. Fanboys never want to hear the reality. Theres more to the Foleo getting shitcanned and these low budget phones they think will save them this Holiday season going on. I dont even get why they are bothering. The best part IS THEY BROUGHT IT ON THEMSELVES!
