Time Harp Instrument is Motion-Sensing, String-Playing Howler

"Argh, um, ooh... actually that's kinda interesting" is an approximate record of my thoughts as I heard the Time Harp play in this vid for the first time. The robo-musical instrument grinds plastic discs against strings to make them resonate, activated by motion sensors. And it produces...well, a kind of vooming hum that is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike the sound of Dr Who's TARDIS dematerializing. Designed by Larnie Fox, I like it for its low-tech strangeness and eerie sounds. Plus its the sort of sound that'll pop up in the background of some dance tune or other, and now you'll know where it came from.
Doctor Who Outed as Secret Ikea Shopper, as Tardis Brought to Set Flat-Packed

Fans of the revivified British TV series Doctor Who are, apparently, reeling, after the shock discovery that the Tardis, the Time Lords' equivalent to a Toyota Prius, comes in a flatpack. "I expected the Tardis to beam down from some far-off galaxy," said one shocked onlooker, "but it looked more like some flatpack furniture when it was pulled off the lorry to be screwed together." Sonic screwdriver jokes below, please.
Parents Build Tardis Bedroom for Their Little Doctor Who Clone

Unfortunately, there is not much in the way of information (or pictures for that matter) of the Tardis bedroom that Steve Baker of Sittingbourne, Kent, built for his 10-year-old son George, but the image included here should give you the gist. Obviously the kid is a rabid Doctor Who fan —an obsession that is only encouraged by the fact that everyone notices that he looks like a miniature David Tennant. Watch your back David—George will probably be after your job one of these days. Sad, yet impressive, all at the same time.

How do we know it was a man? Do you know any women who would make something like this? Q.E.D. – Jason Chen

Doctor Who Tardis USB Hub

Unfortunately we're neither British nor Doctor Who fans, so this USB Tardis Hub doesn't really excite us as much as, say, a USB Battlestar Galactica hub or a USB Jack Bauer hub. But we're sure some of our readers love the good Doctor and would love to plug in their gadgets to his four-port Tardis. – Jason Chen
