Best LCD Ever: Why Sony's 40-Inch Bravia TV Makes Rivals Pee Pants

What HiFi Sound and Vision put eight LCD TVs in the very sweet 40-ish-inch range to come out with one winner: The Sony KDL40W2000. The TV ranked highest because it has a true HD 1920 by 1080 resolution, the sharpest picture, best color, great contrast, and a nice case. It also had the best sound, twin HDMI inputs, and an analog and a freeview tuner. All for 2000 sterling pounds. Pounds? Freeview? Yes, the TV is UK bound, and not available here. Awww.

But we tracked down the US equivalent out of Sony's retardedly confusing product line.
Actually, its cheaper. You want this TV. We give you the...

BRAVIA KDL-40V2500.

We'd written about it before but here, stacked up against the competition, it shines, it really shines. And its $3000 bucks, which is about $1000 bucks cheaper than the UK TV.

Actually, for an extra $800, you could just go for the KDL-40XBR3. It has a third HDMI input, and the BRAVIA Engine Pro. The pro engine can upconvert high definition 1080i and 720p signals to 1080p, while the standard BRAVIA Engine only processes only standard definition signals. Limey bastards, take that. Still, that's a lot of money for a 40-inch TV.

For the record, the TV went up against these sets: Fujitsu P42xHA58EB, LG 42PX5D, NEC PX-42R4G, Panasonic TH-42PX600, Philips 42PF9831D, and Pioneer PDP-427XD, and Toshiba 42WLT66. God, I almost fell asleep typing that shit. The stuff I do for you.

Pulling in second was the Philips Ambilight, part of the family of TVs I personally love, love, love, even with a 1366 by 768 res. And where is Sharp at this party?

Sharp can't be taking for granted, but I've seen enough. This Sony? I want one. Now.

UPDATE: Fact Checked by Lee. Thanks man.
