If you need to run a PC in a wet or dirty environment, behold the Small PC SC240M, a completely sealed PC that not only keeps dirt and grime out of its innards, but is completely fanless and silent, too. You can stuff some pretty good components inside, including a Core 2 Duo 2GHz processor, a 250GB hard drive, and all the usual ports, also hidden inside its enclosure and protected from the elements. You'll pay extra for its rugged demeanor; pricing for the Core 2 Duo model starts at $2195. [Small PC, via Wired]

NIce for field work or that outside entertainment system for the jacuzzi. Really that would make a great setup for a vehicle a computer anywhere. Go offrading and camp, be able to make fuel adjustments to highly tuned cars on the fly without a laptop mounted all over, wire it into a DVD screen with a small folding keyboard.
If I was going to use it in a wet environment, I'd tell them to overclock mine, seeing as I'd basically have a water-cooled system, lol.
This would work fantastic in for the Army in the field. I wish they would use these, with nice specs too!
very nice, and wonder if it can take more than 250GB HDD. I'm curious as to the motherboard used, and internal specs. that would mean you could not only load up all the maps worldwide and really put a gps unit to shame, but also be able to use google maps to get better directions than most of them. I could also see this being a good way to have a portable game system too, depending on the integrated video.
If I could get it with Solid State drives then I could put it on my boat for MP3 storage and playback also for charting and navigation and all kinds of cool stuff.
Wouldn't mind having something like that in my garage if I can add WiFi to it. Not for that price, though. I may be dumb, but I ain't stupid.
@MrSmoofy: I agree with that Loud and clear. I am hoping the future is more generous.
Fanless? Nice... you could use that not only for putting some entertainment system on a jacuzzi, but also to heat the water on it. :P
Fan-less Core 2 Duos running on a hot ass car sounds like a risk I'd rather not take. You think Geiko covers emolliation caused by adding after market parts? I'm guessing no.
