Yes, I still play with action figures. I spent a bit of time today playing with the Optimus Prime toy that I got today to give you this video review of how easy it is to unfurl into robot-ness, and who would win in a fight: New Optimus Prime vs. Old Optimus Prime vs. R2D2 vs. iPod vs. Moto Q. The results may scare you.
Well, maybe not scare you, but you'll have a new found respect for Autobots and the ease of Ikea DIY.

LOL.. you need a PHD or a 5th grader to help you transform your Transformer...
And I thought the unboxing was bad....
too bad we dont have pocket chainsaws nowadays to unwrap stuff...
lol....hey i would call him a dork but i see alot of myself in him so gotta give him props.
Here's to not turning your back on your inner kid! Autobots roll out!!
there needs to be a caveat on the packaging...
you need to do the "beuee pu pu pu pu" on you own, or "BPPPPOWO"
corrected..."BPPPPOYO"
What's cool about making your own sound effects is that you don't have to follow the actual sound effect so you can yell out "FART FART" when you're shooting.
Uhmmm, can I get a job app?
Will you guys hit that digg button please?
omg...the nerdiness...is...kill..ing....meeeeeeeee
ok when it got to the fight sequences, complete with brian's high pitched ipod voice...i just couldn't take it...
course i was never really into transformers, but i still agree they should have the transforming noise...
No spaceballs fans here?
uh...i am...did i miss a joke?
You just probably voided you ipod, moto Q, and optimus prime warrenties by dropping them so hard.
These should be marketed as a "Transformer Puzzle", kinda like a Rubik's Cube!
Damn, it took you like 20 minutes to transform a freakin toy. I think they went a little too far with it.
@canfezplay: The spaceball reference was the prepare to fast-forward part. Remember in the movie when they were watching the Spaceballs movie.
Brian, I so know what you mean. I could always transform my old Transformers right out of the box. They made the new ones lame though, they all take forever and aren't any fun.
the new ones are impressive from a intricacy standpoint but too complicated.
oooh yeah lolol ok ok...its been a little under a year since i saw the movie, lol
@brian
so it honestly has no button for the transform sound? thats...really....frustrating? i mean i'm no huge transformer fan but i'd think that on something like optimus prime it'd at LEAST have the transforming sound...i mean if my kyocera sonic slider can make a "wooo" sound when i open it, i think optimus prime can make a small sound when you transform him! I MEAN COME ON!! ITS OPTIMUS PRIME FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HASBRO!?!?!?
Where's Barricade?
so, how much will one of this cost? i kinda want one, though i don't know what i will do with it. it's not like i'm gonna play with it or anything.......or maybe i will
HA! and your fly was down the whole time!!!!
I used to enjoy unboxing toys like Star Wars figures and Micronauts but today everything is strapped down worse than Hannibal Lector. A mystery.. perhaps they really are alive....
And the old ones were all metal too. These just look damn crappy flimsy fat and ugly. (crasflim-fugly)
Come on, Hasbro! It's a friggin Transformers toy, not a Rubik's Cube!
If it takes 20+ minutes to transform, wouldn't the transforming noise get pretty annoying after all that time? Plus, they must have realized it'd run down the batteries.
he makes it look harder than the rubik's cube
haha didn't read dna's comment
Yeah, when it takes that long to transform the sucker, probably best to just make the noises yourself.
Did you look at the diagram thing? It sometimes falls out of the box and could be as big as a book depending on what you buy. It has pretty pictures.
dugg!
hey hiro nakamura, what's up?
I'm not surprised, but very disappointed that the new Optimus Prime is so ugly and hard to transform (why the flames? Did Prime arrive in a "pimp my ride" show?).
But after seeing this movie I think I might be in love with Brian! More toy-fights, with more silly noises! (Now I know I'm not the only childish one around)
And btw, you know you're nerdy when you actually laugh at the Spaceballs reference (I did).
Well done Brian!
I registered with Digg JUST to Digg it!
Now I'm gonna go have some Super Sugar Crisp and Dig'em.
Why didn't anyone tell me it's not cool to play with Transformers and G.I.Joes when you're 14. Oh, wait, that's right, everyone did.
I bet he kicked 'em up real good if they did.
OMG. I've been reading THIS guy's posts all year?
Please cancel my RSS subscription immediately and refund me my free time.
Yep... I immidiately thought "Omg... spaceballs!!!!" When I saw the fight scene..lol. I do have to say though that my Veritech fighter transforms much better than that and appears much sturdier.
ROBOTECH FTW!!!!!!!
OMG you tore the packaging.
Brap!
Brian, check back in a week with an updated video of you transforming OP, i'm sure it will on take a minute by then....
Question, how much bigger is the new OP than the old OP? He looks to be much bigger (or BL is a small guy).
Post a side by side pic please
This is a little bit off-topic, but did you guys see the Transformers skit on Robot Chicken? If you haven't, look it up on YouTube. Hilarious!
Easy on the packaging man! Show some love!
Where is the part where he sticks Optimus down his pants?
Jason has a copyright on that move.
I love this dude. I still own my Transformers, whether I use them is another story, but I still have them!!!! (and a loser i shall stay)
Thar reminds me alot of that crab guy from beastwars. That thing took me like the whole freakin day to figure out. From what I rem hasbro's transfromers where always shit. Well atleast from back when I played with em (1996).
What happened to the days when Transformers could actually be...transformed. It looks like it takes and Engineering degree to change Prime into a truck. Even Six Shot din't look THAT complicated. Man, I miss 1985.
The original Optimus Prime toy pwns this... I wonder how much my G1 Optimus Prime and Megatron toys would net on eBay now... hmm
Spaceballs reference FTW; but where was Colonel Sanders barging in on you to call you up on playing with your dolls... err... gadgets and not-so-uber-robot.
can you please tell us where to buy that Optimus Prime? thank you!
