Let us assume you have a girlfriend; what would you get her for Christmas? Imaginary problem solved; enter the Electric Paper Plane Launcher Educational Aid. The kit contains all the materials to construct a launch pad for paper planes, which will allow them to travel at speeds of 50km/h. Fifty freaking km/h!
If that statistic does not get your fabricated love's dopamine receptors to hypersensitive status on receipt of the gift, you are with the wrong fictional person (sorry). So what? That is one less person to get in your way when making/unleashing your paper planes at 50km/h using your $14.95 launcher kit. You can do better, buddy; a nonexistent girlfriend that refused to make out with you and continually nagged you about playing too much Xbox 360 isn't worth your effort, anyway. Keep looking, and go easy on the hallucinogens. [Product Page via Nerd Approved]

Unfortunately the box also reads in fine print "will allow you to recreate the flight of the X-Wing; disintegrates the aircraft in less than 5 seconds!"
Please aim away from face.
Assumption is the mother of all f**k up's.
So no, we do not have a girlfriend. Period
"imaginary" problem solved. lmfao!!
This totally reminds me of that Mr. Show sketch with the old timey dueling-inventors singing: "Electric Sports Bra -- Electric Sports Bra"
This would be great for competitions, as it assures everyone will get the same throw.
We can't aim it at the face?
What could possibly happen?
I wish I had this back in study hall.
why can't we use our arms and hands like our moms taught us to do? Oh, because we've become a lazy society where we need to pay money for a singular use gadget that immobilizes us ever so much. nice
@zarchitect: Sooooo, just how did your mom teach you to use your arms and hands?
Mine just told me I'd go blind.
meh. Two rubberized wheels spinning on a platform. Thanks for the idea. 20 minutes with Lego will produce the same if not better for me.
@zarchitect: so i take it you wrote that comment on a typewriter, put a stamp on it and walked it down to the post office so it could be delivered to gizmodo for posting?
it's a GADGET blog, there is absolutely nothing on this site that doesn't allow people to be lazier, that's the whole point of technology!
You'll shoot your eye out, Ralphie!
This looks awfully similar to the gag gift boxes over at The Onion...

@Denver80203: I'm with you. This is more like a MAKE or Instructables project waiting to happen. And you could probably make it even cooler...how about a narrow feed channel behind the wheels, with a rubberband mechanism for pressure at the opposite end? Load several planes into the feed channel, start the wheels and presto! Rapid-fire plane launching.
@Denver80203
Now we're talking. Send a squadron of planes at your enemies. Now take that same idea and add on a flame at the launch point and sending a squadron of flaming aircraft at your enemies!
Ah, whatever.
A few years back I saw an exhibit at the Tate Gallery that had a machine at one end of the big hall, MAKING and firing paper airplanes from scratch.
@CBDSTEVE
Yeah, but did they set them on fire? Looks like someone needs to take it to the next level. :)
Fun looking $14 to launch paper airplanes - This is a fun educational aid product designed to demonstrate scientific concepts taught in school curriculum. Ready for take off!
