Taking more than just a few pages from Snow Crash, this Teleglass T3-F eyeglasses add-on does for video what iPods have done for audio—namely, allow you to watch it anywhere.
By clipping the video display to your eyeglasses, you can watch video from your iPod or other portable display device in one eye while supposedly paying attention to what you're doing with the other. Although that's technically good, we still don't want to see how many Japanese commuters accidentally step onto the tracks when watching this. At $820, it's an expensive way to die.

Anyone who saw Deja Vu could tell you this is not a good idea.
Chen - which pages would those be? Metaverse goggles in the storage unit? I thought those were tethered. honestly, of all the things that do show up in Snow Crash, im pretty sure this isn't one of them.
any word on resolution? anything less than 1024 x 768 is whack for that price.
Does that mean people who do not usually wear glasses will actually START WEARING GLASSES in order to watch videos from their iPods? WHAT AN EXCELLENT IDEA!!!
A new way for the Japanese to get video-related seizures. Good job.
This is soooo Universal Soldier. Welcome to the early 90s.
Within 5 minutes of watching this you'll have a splitting headache from trying to focus on 2 different locations at the same time.
Wouldn't you get lots of scratches on you eyeglasses that way?
$820, that's cheap compared to the bill your family gets when you slow down the train system during your suicide... Either way, these still make you look like a tool. I'd guess when bluetooth earpieces look normal, these will be the next to try.
I want Heads Up Display with my vital stats please.
Heartrate:
Interst in current activity:
Ammo:
Just the standard stuff please
i dont wear glasses... this is racist hehe
Will they fit on my contacts?
I can't believe I'm the first one to mention "borg" here. Isn't that the first obvious similarity? Anyway, there are much cheaper glasses that do essentially the same thing giving the illusion of a 50" screen. On the other hand they are used for both eyes and I haven't seen them used on an ipod. But $820?
Resistance is not futile!
Borg? No.
I think you mean Voorta.
[Trekkies in the house say "yeaaaah"...]
Borg, definitely borgish.
How is it possible to focus on something that close to your eye?
I've often wondered how well people can actually see video on these small clip-on or eyeglass type displays. Has anybody here ever used one of these things?
Nutbastard: The gargoyles in Snow Crash had a hiptop PC with a monacle just like the one pictured in the video. It was for the people who walked around in the normal world who wanted to be connected with the matrix.
Nutbastard: Also, regular deck goggles were just goggles, the screen was projected onto them using lasers from the deck. When Vitaly Chernobyl steps in front of Hiro to tell him he has a call, the metaverse fades out and disappears.
(does it sound like Snow Crash's one of my favorite books?)
wouldnt this be an ideal way of developing lazy eye or just plain going blind in one eye
Why not both?
if you don't wear a pair of glasses, it can knock your eyeball
I would not recommend using this while operating heavy equipment...
I think Type-E's right. The way that thing flicks forward, it sounds like it would go from whrrrCLICK to whrrrSQUISH if you just have it connected to an earpiece or headphones.

There were other portable music players before the iPod, yaknow :P
Wouldnt this make people run into walls since they are concentrating on the TV? As technology gets more advanced people get more lazy, what is next, a tv implanted directly into the brain that you can turn on with your mind?
@MadManiac
Take your cell phone and hold up the screen to your eye. Can you read it, or even vaguely make out what's on the screen? I can't. Maybe I have eyesight issues, but this doesn't seem like it would work too well. So I think you're right.
