The iLive Flat Panel Docking System is a virtual surround sound bar that uses magnetically shielded 2 full mid/high range drivers and twin internal woofers. You can pretty much hook up whatever you want—DVD players, TVs, computers via USB, other audio players—but considering it has a specially built motorized tray that fits an iPod, we're guessing that's what iLive had in mind. The unit also has a headphone jack. Weird.

Now why would you plug in your iPod just to use the dock's headphone port? Once your iPod is docked, you can control it by the player's buttons, or by remote. It's got pretty much everything else you'd expect in the way of frills, from the usual AM/FM tuner to a backlit LCD clock that has an alarm, too. Expect to pay around $350.

And they say length doesn't matter... or at least that's what my mom told me when I was a teenager.
Do you really run an adventurer society? what was your mom doing looking at your schlong?
*applauds*
Now THIS is the kind of commenting gold we've all come to expect from teh Giz.
in other news... neat speaker. Kinda almost maybe overfeatured. Sorta like getting a pen and pencil holder that's got a clock, calculator, and protractor attached.
I am now in the habit of reading the comments snippet along with the posts, and when I see Lam asking, "what was your mom doing looking at your schlong" I really thought strider_mt2k had left an AWESOME comment... Dang. It was just an honest question.
Cool speaker.
Yes I do, we hand-build wooden boats and do sailing expeditions and explorations. We seek to maintain the mythology and romance of the age of sail and bring the art of fine shipbuilding to a new generation of adventurers.
As for the other question, that's an on-going investigation, and I feel it would be incriminating of me to either confirm, or deny anything at this point.
Fair enough. I sail, too. Went out last Sunday in the Bay. Really choppy, didn't enjoy myself.
Been there, done that.

But only the iLive has a motorized tray.
Length's nothing unless it can move.
Headphones are used when you place this on a shelf behind your bed and your don't want to bother someone while your ipod charges for the morning. At least that's what I would do.
Hey, does anyone know if this thing works with the new Ipod Touch units?
The info on this typically says it's for: "iPod/mini/nano/shuffle/video/photo players". Does that mean it will NOT work with the Touch? Or would it be fine with the docking adapter that came with the touch?
Any help appreciated.
