"amazing opportunity".....? It's a freaking laptop...not an amazing opportunity.
I've been WOW free since April. Until a lappie does the grinding for you I'm staying sober.
I finally quit wow at the begining of the Summer, but my new job will have me home 1 week out of 3... I'm going to end up relapsing.
I've got to say, it's kind of funny that at the beginning he seems to take a dig at another unnamed company for spending too much time on packaging/etc. and then for the rest of the video proceeds to gush over every aspect of the packaging of this machine. It seems like he would come to the realization that "hey, maybe there is a reason that some companies are now focusing on doing nice packaging/etc.".
This is an enormous tool.
I have to say - $4,000 for a computer...that's a lot. Think of all the porn that could get you.
@HoldenCfld: This GUY is an enormous tool, and now so am I.
i gave up world of borecraft just because it was ummmm well, boring. walking around for a half-hour just to find a flower that lets you make a jacket. wooo-weee! talk about action packed (yaaaawwwwnnn). so now i will sit and wait for the pending nerd barrage...
And here we see the hinge... oh my god, I don't even know what to say. This.. it's just so beautiful, the way the brushed metal feels under my finger tips. Now three of my four girlfriends would absolutely go crazy for this. My fourth doesn't really enjoy computers but I think she'd at least appreciate the aesthetic appeal of it. My wife of course would have first access to it but I think she's going to fall in love with this power button here.
@SharkByte: Try going past lvl 10... it helps.
Yeah, but will it run OS X?
fascinating
Does anyone know if there is or will be an upgrade or expansion for Diablo 11? I like the game and have tried most Characters. I am playing Barbarian now with two swords and he give a good kicking.
Time for Blizzard to do something for us die hard Diablo fans.
@D-Rock78: A $200 budget PC and broadband could get me all the porn I want... but it can't get me a dual-core processor or SLI DX10 graphics...
How do people who spend 80 hours a week pretending to be a female elf afford a $4500 laptop?
... oh, and to the author, I think you mean 'hoard' and not 'horde' in the first paragraph...
That said, "For the Horde"
Anyone think that was Will Riker before you started watching?
I expected him to start crying once he opened the box. Maybe it's just me, but I find a man in his late 30's talking about PvP and being a healer to be quite disturbing.
I gave up WoW 2 yrs ago, yet I want this....
I listen to this guy's WoW podcast. He doesn't always sound like such a tool but I'll sadly admit that he comes close. :(
After watching the whole thing I take that back. I was wrong. He is a total tool.
This guy is a toolbelt. Randomly skipping my way through the video, then landing upon a scene of him astounded by the quality of the... cardboard..... just is a little too much for me.
why does he keep acting like he doesn't know what's in it
even after taking out one of the first pieces of paper that showed the laptop
he needs some caffeine or something.
I could only take a minute of Senor Douchebag, and had to stop when he started creaming pants over the amazing, intricately-designed -=envelope=-.
I think I would rather watch the Andy Milonakis "mod" clip again.
I've got a golden ticket... What he doesn't have, apparently, is much of a life if he is that impressed by manufactured paper. I, too, could not finish more than about 2 minutes of the first video. Absolute tool.
@SkyLab: HA! Manufactured paper? I guess I forgot there is no naturally occurring paper.
I wonder, what sorts of things is he wanting do with those boxes?
The whole package that comes with the laptop seems tempting.
But those 3 videos... I just couldn't handle it. This is not the fucking second comming of Jesus Christ damn it.
It's just a laptop with a game on it. That's it. Repeat after me.
Get a life or something.
@rustynails30: It's you. If someone is in their 30's that means they've been gaming since Pong... the world's first FPS'er.
wow, looks like a nice lapyop, wonder how good of a battery life it has and how it does on a sock test?
Guess I'll do the honors... "yes, but will it blend?" and yeah, it can play WoW, but can it play Doom?
The comments about this guy are way too funny. "Oh, a heavy box - this is VERY nice."
All nice, (if someone dropped one off on my doorstep, it wouldn't freeze to death like the baby did) but is it rocketproof?
This would be sweet! Nice to have it all in one little package.
Although DirectX10 SLI-Enabled graphics and 512mb is just vague enough to not tell me what card(s)? they are. What is it? Is 2 cards, or just "enabled" for 2 cards?
My main issue is you could buy this whole set up, except a little faster, for less than half if you just NewEgg'd the parts and put together a desktop.
Dual 8700m Gts graphics cards with 256mb
Its 2 cards on one board
.... but this is a laptop..? But actually its not supposed to be put on your lap, Its a "portable". Because the vents are on the bottom of the massive thing
And it looks like the liscenced technology from Logitech, because the little monitor in the keyboard is practically identical to the readouts i get with my Logitech G15
Arthas!? Arthas!? Or, "any number of different characters," as he put it?
That poster had Illidan Stormrage on it! Illidan the Betrayer! ILLIDAN! Y'know, the Night Elf demon hunter who absorbed the Fel magic of the Skull of Gul'dan, thereby becoming a demon? Brother of Malfurion Stormrage? The ruler of the Black Temple, lording over both Lady Vashj's Naga and Kael'thas Sunstrider's Blood Elves?
And this guy thinks it's Arthas?
GHAA! WTF kind of unboxing is this? Why didn't Dell get an enthusiastic Blizzard fanboy instead of this boring, monotonous drone?
I only registered so I can say this guy is the biggest douche I've ever seen. "I've always wondered why when I buy things, they dont speak more to me directly"..are you f'ing kidding me?
SETP 1: Cut a hole in the box...
What an absolutely massive waste of money it will be if you buy this to play WoW, which can run at full detail at any resolution on a mid-range machine.
I just want a computer that can play Orange Box please =0(
@FriendlyRobot: lololol and thats the way you do it.
@disposibleinterloper:
Come on, He's a casual player.
Didn't you hear him going on about pets?
I bet he hasn't stepped into Kara let along BT.
But yeah, what does it say about a reviewer is supposidly a fan and can't recognize the most hyped character of the expansion.
Especially with the "You are not prepared" comments everywhere.
@godai:
I love pets too. Heck, if I found out I got an exclusive pet, I'd also be going on about it. I'd probably cream myself on the spot if it'd be Murky.
That said, forget Kara. Hell, forget all of the Outland instances, and everything down to and below URBS. I doubt he's ever done Mara, or even SM. Hell, I bet WC and VC would be pushing it.
@disposableinterloper:
Though I sort of wonder how much I could actually get the system for if i chop shop the package.
I already have the 2 CE's so I could sell that upgrade. I could sell the art books and strategy guide but only for a few books. since everything was already in the CEs.
I bet the beta card also has either a murky or the costume on it.
I'd sell the figure gift cert.
If i'm lucky with the tcg packs might be able to get 20-60 bucks if you get one or two of the scratch cards.
Of course this would probably only knock off 500-600 on the price.
Its still too pricy for me. Especially since I bought an e1705 last year. Oh well.
Maybe if they had a cheaper desktop special edition.
The pet alone can fetch you a pretty penny. I remember seeing Murky cards selling for $800+ on eBay following that BlizzCon. While this pet might not be quite as kickass, toss in the chance to get in on a Blizzard beta and you've got a pretty nice slice off the price of that laptop.
On an unrelated note, the only thing more awesome than Murky would be a mage-exclusive unicorn mount. The Outland version can have spectral wings. Hey, it's only fair that I get a class-exclusive mount too, and to make up for it, a class-exclusive flying mount with it...
