Not only does the upcoming Xbox 360 Fall Dashboard Update bring parental timers and downloadable original Xbox games, it's going to allow you to peep in on your buddies' friends list as well. As long as your friends set their list visibility to "Everyone" or "Friends only" (and not "Blocked"), you can see who your friend friended and send a friend request to them of your own. Think of it as looking through your buddies' cellphone when he's not looking, jotting down numbers, then calling people up and asking if they'll be your friend. [Xbox via Friends of Friends]

Man...you need some friends.
How about getting some Facebook interconnectivity. Maybe some Twitter too. Or maybe link it to the GPS in my cell-phone.
I want people on Live to know more than my games - I want them to have my coordinates to within 1 meter.
I am a huge XBOX Live gamer and I am still trying to figure out why I would want to peep in on my buddies friends list?
Are they trying to mimic Facebook or www.LinkedIn.com or something?
I don't get it?
It's a shame they aren't adding IPTV support like they said they would back in January. I would love the ability to watch television while logged into XBOX Live chatting with friends and family.
@yoshi: It's a feature in game browsers on the PC side like XFire already. I guess the idea is building networks among like-minded players. I get tired of being spammed by Friends of Friends on Xfire personally. If I don't know you, why the hell would I want you on my list?
So far the fall update is failing to thrill me. Aside from the aforementioned features that Jason laid out is there anything to really get excited about? COD4 and Assassin's Creed are giving my 360 a good workout nonetheless, but what is going to keep me at the Dashboard?
@yoshi:
Just get a PC with Media Center on it, and you can do that now.... for free. No IPTV subscription fee.
You can be watching TV, get a game/chat invite from a friend, hit the record button to record your show; and pick your tv show back up where you left off without ever missing a thing.
Where is the media center extender update for divx/xvid support? Quit putting this off m$!
@xrikazen:
I seriously doubt you will ever see that happen, but there are alternatives like transcoder 360.
@robinandtami: Just tell him where he can find a $300 media center PC and we're good
I remember this when it was called Xfire...Way to go microsoft, keep up the innovative features! What's next screen shots or maybe clans? oh Schnap! I think I just gave them the summer release for next year. Fischt.
@xrikazen: dude, check out the Phillips DV5960 or their newer version. Lets you play divX off a thumb drive or HDD via USB. Sweet.
I like this feature...when trying to get groups to play together, its easier if everyone has everyone else on their friends list. now i don't have to add everyone on my own.
@jason chen:
Ouch!
Mad droll, dude, mad droll. :)
Damn that's droll!
hilarious, dude, fr#%$ing hilarious!
@frigg: whoops. meant to delete half that comment. Instead it just posted up. Now it looks stupid!
Everyone should add Retrovirus9 and Sidewinder9 from the photo to their friends list just for grins.
that's creepy. what a stupid idea.
@kavendano14:
Throw a tv tuner into existing PC and install XP Media Center Edition. Done and Done.
dec. 4th is the magical day
@Vagabum:
That's funny, wonder how the XBox system reacts to someone receiving large quantities of friend invitations.
I restrict Friend-setting to folks I actually know, not just those I've played with. Folks I've played with only get preferred feedback, let their matching engine use that stuff. I don't want to be watching a movie or playing a game and constantly see messages about random GamerTags signing on and off.
@Vagabum:
Just about to add them myself.
@Strahd414:
Except at least the first one doesn't exist.
@Harlan:
Go to your prefernces and have it disable notifications during video.
Disabled this feature on xbox.com last night. Completely pointless.
