Donald Trump would like to be known as the Jobs President. But one of his first actions after taking office was to institute a federal hiring freeze. That means thousands of jobs are being left vacant indefinitely until the administration passes a budget that decimates federal jobs for good.
Gizmodo has filed over a dozen Freedom of Information Act requests to gain an understanding of how the hiring freeze is affecting various agencies. Last week we showed you the vacant jobs at NASA and noted that it’s mighty hard to get to Mars if the space agency isn’t allowed to hire aerospace engineers. Today we have a list of all the jobs currently vacant at the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
