So I have a few questions: Now that MobileMe will be phased out in favor of iCloud, what will happen to all those websites created on iWeb and hosted in MobileMe? Will iCloud host them? Is iWeb just completely forgotten by Apple (there hasn't been an update in ages)? Do you guys recommend a better alternative to iWeb?

iWeb will still be able to FTP if you have hosting somewhere, but yes MobileMe hosted sites are gone. I really hope Apple figures something out on this front because I have a few little sites I use with it and if it goes away I won't pay for hosting elsewhere.
If they offered a hosting option with the 25GB extra storage plan, I'd buy it. Nice way to get people to pay extra money for a service they're (technically) getting rid of. #whitenoise

Rogers can eat shit. Finally decided to switch to techsavvy, with rogers I was paying up to 110$ every month just for the internet (10mbs down), hidden costs and being over charged for going over their amazingly low download limits.
Techsavvy will only be costing me 34.99$ a month for the same service with a 300GB limit. No hidden costs. Basically if you're living in Canada and are going through the same problems i've had, don't be afraid to make the switch. The stupid discount bundles Rogers try to suck you into is a ripoff.

3. Add Friends to your Circles. Here is what I did: A. First create "levels of friends." (think Dante). These are people who you have casual relationships with. I have levels from Best friends, to Acquaintance. These are overlapping so "Close Friends" includes "Best Friends" and "Friends" includes them both. This allows you to share anything from personal secrets, (Still be a bit wary of posting things on the internet, even to your best friends. Stuff happens) to public information and everything in between B.Create separate circles for Professional Connections, Family, Professors etc. These allow you to present different information outside of your "friend-type" connections. C. Create "Interest Circles." These are for sharing more specific information. For example, I have Dancers, College Friends, Circus, and the such. This allows you to share things with the people who will actually care about them. Your ninja friends probably don't care about your pirate costume (and you might want to hide it)
4. Get your Photos! While you can upload manually you probably want some stuff from Facebook. So...
5.Use [www.picknzip.com] to download your Facebook albums and tagged photos. It only got about two thirds of my tagged photos but went a long way.
6. Upload said photos. You can use Picasa (a google service) to manage your photos. If you clicking Enable Synch on album in Picasa it will upload it to G+ as a private album. If you are already using Picasa this will be easy
Note: If anyone comes up with a good way to tag pictures quickly or import tags, let me know!
7. Download Chrome extensions for Google+ (if you aren't using Chrome you probably should be, but their are also extensions for firefox) There are plenty of extensions and scripts that you can use to make the experience better. Just google it! I do have some recommendations though.
8. The two extensions I have found most useful are Surplus and Plus One Anything. The first puts notifications, sharing, and responding to posts in your browser and is great a tool. The second allows you to +1 any page. +1 is similar to the "Like" button on Facebook except that it stores all of your likes on a page on your profile. 9. Search for interesting people/content. This is a bit like twitter in that you can add someone to your pre-created "Following" circle. Check out Sparks on the left hand nav bar. Don't think of it like Facebook; it can be a powerful tool to discover new information and conversation as well as keep up with your friends.

This interesting article has actually made me reconsider my thoughts on this whole Facebook vs Google+ thing. Comments from Mark Zuckerberg on FB Groups like "It’s a feature that fewer than 5 percent of Facebook’s users actually exploit, and thus has been relegated to the low-priority status of a feature for power users" remind me of similar comments by Tom Anderson and the myspace gang a few years ago, and we all know how that ended. Facebook's focus on the things the majority of users use seems to neglect that it's often the power users that shape the future of the tech usage.
After all, people like my mom love Facebook, but she was still using Blackberry and Myspace until this past year. People like her make up the majority of users, but they aren't the ones exactly shaping the future of products. Now that's not to say you should ignore the majority and focus solely on power users, but power users are extremely important, and the moment you start to neglect them, that's the moment you start to lose control. Yesterday, I commented that I give Facebook 6 months to answer to Google+'s great new features before they have any serious threat of hemorrhaging users. I still believe that that statement is still true, but Zuckerberg has made me a little doubtful of Facebook's ability to pull that off.
In the day and age when companies rise and fall closer to months instead of years, it's important to note that the user investment isn't the same as what it used to be. Venture capitalists seem to be behind in understanding how the digital world differentiates from the industries of the past, and so I guess it's not that hard to believe that Zuckerberg, who has these individuals yelling in his ear, is seemingly making that same mistake. While users have invested a lot of time into Facebook, that investment isn't as strong as some would like to think. As much history as I have in Facebook, it's only rarely that I go back looking through it (though this is partly due to how difficult Facebook makes it). Indeed, most of the content that matters is what's being posted today, not yesterday.
I am by no means calling Google+ a deathblow. Quite the contrary. Google has a mostly uphill and large battle in it's future, but if Google can steal the power users, it holds in it's hands the key to turning the odds more in it's favor, and, currently, Facebook doesn't seem too keen on fighting to keep them. My thoughts exactly. Facebook is using the "too big to fail" approach, and I think that it's going to be what ultimately makes them become irrelevant.
It will depend on how Google pushes it, but I do think that G+ is going to be facebook's death blow. Google said that this was an all or nothing kind of thing, and that if it didn't succeed, they will considered to have failed. They also said that they will always adapt G+ to the needs of it's users.
That means that Google is going to push it pretty hard. Last time they did that, it was for Android, and it quickly became 1 selling smartphone OS.
On the subject of other Google products, Google already has about 200 million Gmail users, and each and everyone of them can have a very easy process to create a G+ profile, and they will without a doubt be prompted to do so as soon as G+ goes public.
Now take into account that Google is activating 500'000 Android phones a day, and to activate an Android phone, you have to setup a gmail account. Google will also probably ask you if you want to sign up for G+ while you set it up. They will also ask if you want to import your contacts, since you're on your phone. Let's say you got 20 contacts (low estimate on purpose), and that half of those 500'000 people decide to sign up for G+, that's 250'000 new people per day that asked 5'000'000 other people per day to join.
This also means that a steady flow of your friends will sign up each day for G+, wich will in term lead to more people signing up etc etc.

The last time I bought a non-stick pan was in 2005. At the time, I didn't know you had to keep them under a certain temperature. Needless to say, it didn't stay non-stick for very long. But I've kept it and continued to use it.
Today I bought a new one for $20. Seasoned it twice according to the instructions. Then I fried an egg. Without using a spatula. Holy crap.

Weird, huh? Mine didn't say how to do it, only that I should. Got the instructions online. Heat the pan, add oil, swirl it around, allow to cool, remove oil. And apparently I shouldn't use soap to clean the pan, just warm water and a paper towel.
The only reason I looked at the instructions was because this pan has a color-changing temperature indicator, and I wanted to know how to use it. #whitenoise(Edit comment)

@Googlo The Peasant: I rinsed off the oil and then wiped it dry with a paper towel. The first thing I made was bacon, which doesn't need oil anyway. After the bacon was cooked, I used some of the leftover fat to cook the egg. I don't know how long the non-stick coating will last on this, but it's at least survived the first day. I've heard that one way to prevent sticking (on any kind of cookware) is to allow the cooking surface to heat up without oil, then add non-heated oil followed immediately by the food. I think it has something to do with heat causing the metal to expand, which stretches out microscopic cracks and imperfections, giving the oil a better shot at making contact with those points. Of course, with non-stick, you're playing a dangerous game by letting it heat up without oil, so it's not something you'd want to walk away from.
From what I've read, there could be a few different reasons that your non-stick surfaces are wearing out so quickly. If the pan gets too hot, the surface gets damaged. You want to keep it on low or medium heat. If you're planning to sear meat, you're better off with stainless steal. For that reason, it's best to have a stainless steel (or cast iron, copper, whatever your flavor) and non-stick, so you always have an appropriate tool for the job.
It's also a good idea to avoid using metal utensils on a non-stick surface. Wood is usually fine, and it's nice to have a silicon spatula and tongs on hand.
A lot of non-stick cookware labels throw an asterisk next to "dishwasher safe" to indicate that using it in the dishwasher will likely shorten the life of the non-stick surface. I think it's because of the harsh detergent, as well as the potential for a rogue utensil to go flinging around in there when it gets hit by a jet of water.
Of course, none of this comes from personal experience. I'm still the guy who would have snuffed a canary in the first week with my previous non-stick pan.
I think I will be buying a Stainless steal Pan then. I like to to sear my food. That was the whole point of me getting a pan. I was told that once the polymer chips off it could cause flu like symptoms... I'm not sure if it's true cause once it chips I throw it out. Have you heard of that?

I've heard about the flu-like symptoms too, particularly when the pan is overheated and the coating releases fumes into the air. It's especially bad for birds, whose respiratory systems are so sensitive that they can actually die from the fumes.
I read some other tips last night for preventing sticking. It's best if the food isn't too cold when it hits the pan, and the surface of the food should be dry. Patting the food with a paper towel can help. If you're cooking chicken or fish, you can make long, shallow cuts into the skin. This is supposed to let the moisture escape during cooking in a way that not only reduces sticking but also gives you a more crispy skin.
I'm really happy with my stainless steel pan. I just bought it a couple months ago. You can get it really hot and make onion rings or calamari without damaging it. And when you cook meat, you'll get small bits stuck to the pan (sucs) which break down easily when you add wine or broth. This makes a really flavorful sauce. #whitenoise(Edit comment)
@tomsomething: You got a T-Fal?? Nice. If using oil in your cooking and having nonstick; the oil should be applied prior to heating. The opposite goes for aluminum and stainless steel. My wok sees a lot of oils and has started to discolor due to highly heated oil for frying tofu. It works perfectly! Whatever is on the Evo's screen is on the TV! With the N64 emulator, a WiiMote, and an HDMI cable I could have a portable N64!!! Sound works over HDMI too!
@Sheldon J. Plankton: That's amazing! IMHO, the EVO is the best Android phone because it is so supported. There is so much out there for it, whether it be rooting software, custom ROMS, or what have you. Of course, there's the Nexus series which are just on stock, but the EVO is extremely supported.

From what I've read, there could be a few different reasons that your non-stick surfaces are wearing out so quickly. If the pan gets too hot, the surface gets damaged. You want to keep it on low or medium heat. If you're planning to sear meat, you're better off with stainless steal. For that reason, it's best to have a stainless steel (or cast iron, copper, whatever your flavor) and non-stick, so you always have an appropriate tool for the job.
It's also a good idea to avoid using metal utensils on a non-stick surface. Wood is usually fine, and it's nice to have a silicon spatula and tongs on hand.
A lot of non-stick cookware labels throw an asterisk next to "dishwasher safe" to indicate that using it in the dishwasher will likely shorten the life of the non-stick surface. I think it's because of the harsh detergent, as well as the potential for a rogue utensil to go flinging around in there when it gets hit by a jet of water.
Of course, none of this comes from personal experience. I'm still the guy who would have snuffed a canary in the first week with my previous non-stick pan.

I was told that once the polymer chips off it could cause flu like symptoms... I'm not sure if it's true cause once it chips I throw it out. Have you heard of that?

I've heard about the flu-like symptoms too, particularly when the pan is overheated and the coating releases fumes into the air. It's especially bad for birds, whose respiratory systems are so sensitive that they can actually die from the fumes.
I read some other tips last night for preventing sticking. It's best if the food isn't too cold when it hits the pan, and the surface of the food should be dry. Patting the food with a paper towel can help. If you're cooking chicken or fish, you can make long, shallow cuts into the skin. This is supposed to let the moisture escape during cooking in a way that not only reduces sticking but also gives you a more crispy skin.
I'm really happy with my stainless steel pan. I just bought it a couple months ago. You can get it really hot and make onion rings or calamari without damaging it. And when you cook meat, you'll get small bits stuck to the pan (sucs) which break down easily when you add wine or broth. This makes a really flavorful sauce. #whitenoise (Edit comment)
