Star Wars purists like myself are probably going to ignore everything The Clone Wars with an intensity normally reserved for busting best buddies out of their carbonite prisons, but in case you're a geek that willingly and joyfully slurps up even the blackest dredges of George Lucas' mega franchise, Toys R' Us is getting ready to empty your wallets. At midnight tonight, hundreds of the toy purveyors' stores will be opened to give fans a first shot at owning their own piece of Clone Wars memorabilia. Excited about the quintessential Bond collection coming out on Blu Ray in October? Amazon's giving you an even greater reason to be excited—a 32-percent discount on several James Bond films, including a Sean Connery three-pack of Dr. No, From Russia with Love and Thunderball. The perhaps less venerable three-pack of Pierce Brosnan's Die Another Day and Roger Moore-manned Live and Let Die and For Your Eyes Only is also on sale. Each Blu-ray will cost only $23.95 individually. [Amazon]

To find out if dogs are really homing snackycakes for bloodthirsty sharks, or if poking them in the eye with a pokey thing is actually a good idea, you could ask a dude in a lab coat, or like, watch Jaws. Unless you're the Mythbusters—then you build a robot dog, surround it with doggy blood, piss and shit and dump it in shark-infested waters. And a 16-foot ROBOT SHARK. With serrated metal teeth and the same pound-for-bone-crunching-pound bite as a great white. But! If you stab it in the eye, you can make it stop killing you (I guess that's one way to test the myth). You can catch a glimpse of this robo-Jaws in the vid below.

NYT's Joe Nocera—one of the reporters who speculated on the health of Apple's CEO after WWDC—got a call from Steve Jobs himself. It wasn't pretty from the very beginning:
“This is Steve Jobs. You think I’m an arrogant [expletive] who thinks he’s above the law, and I think you’re a slime bucket who gets most of his facts wrong.”
What followed was Jobs setting the record straight and spilling the beans about his health.

The Tenori-On is the zany Yamaha touch-based musical sequencer that caught our eye earlier this year, but this cool PacklSound1 iPhone app could very well be the portable version that puts us over the edge. It's a simpler version of the original $1,200 Tenori-On box, but that didn't stop the designer from laying down a quick, catchy beat. Seeing it in action, makes me want it right now:
