"@Josh2020: I cant believe he actually said 'We call this orchestrating your ballet of death' seriously.
Thought the exact same thing and I'm afraid this won't do Warhammer 40K any justice.
The most fascinating and defining aspect of a Space Marine is that while their scale and understanding of brutality is practically unlimited, their strongest defining trait is still their untaintable love for their god emperor and how unshakable their faith and belief system is.
They're humble men.
And ignoring the guys BS-talk and basically the entire "we call this XY" and "we call that YX" verbal masturbation all over your own product, the ending portion was the only part that gave the slightest of glimpses what one might expect to read about in a 40K novel, but still, as far as the property is concerned, I have little to no hope for this game.
The amount of violence needed alone to stay somewhat "faithful" to the source material would warrant an AO+ rating all by itself, even with no sexual content whatsoever.
I call this "biting off more than you can chew" and "orchestrating the alienation of core fans of the property" and "streamlining an established license to the point where it's really not recognizable anymore" also we like to call this "not giving a shit about the fans" but we're really driven by the concept we dubbed "making a shitload of cash while we're at it".
Blood for the blood god."
"@Bedlam: who knows whom the company of the Kölner Messe (Cologne) bribed with presents etc to get the BIU vote for Cologne
Just for your info, all BIU members were offered to get the first 3 years of GamesCom completely free, as in attendance and floorspace by the Kölner Messe."
"As far as I know MetaNet spent between 300 and 400K developing N+.
Sure, that was multiplatform plus marketing, but they already came from a completely working prototype."
"@archibaldleech: I proscribe a chill pill for Australia.
If it's a purely fictional chill pill and the context is Australia completely not chilling out, it should be ok."
"I live in Germany and A&W can only be found at very, very few special retailers, usually in large train-stations or possibly airports.
Price per can is around €2.50, which would be somewhere around US$ 4.00 right now.
Most Germans loath it though because it smells similar to a very common toilet cleanser (not kidding), for me it had the opposite effect though, because I've loved rootbeer since basically forever and when I first came to Germany and bsy chance smelled that toilet cleanser I thought "Mhmmm~ root beer...".
It's funny getting Germans to try it and then watching their faces when they make the association."
"Well, after EA did such a superb job of vacating the throne of the most loathsome videogame related company, I guess somebody just had to step up to fill the gap.
Fuck you Activision."
"
For those people that mind how the lightcycles are not doing 90° turns or the rider not being immediately snuffed into a 0.
Check out the original trailer, slightly passed the middle you'll see quite evidently how the cycles can maneuver fully analog as soon as they're not on the grid anymore, and the tanks can destroy the cycles and just "eject" the riders without directly harming them.
The critics are basing their opinions too heavily on what I'd assume would be your vague recollection of the original or just on their past experience of playing the countless lightcycle mini-games all over the web.
Personally I'm very hyped for TR2N and the name is good enough for me too."
"@Shiryu:
Strider WAS remade, if you're referring to the Genesis-era Strider, which was remade on the Playstation AFAIK.
Or do you mean they should remake THAT version?"
""You had me at Gearbox..."
Actually, they did, I've been hungering for a new Aliens game ever since AvP by Rebellion and to me AvP2 by Monolith, while very dear to many gamers for some reason, was a huge disappointment in my eyes."
