<![CDATA[EBone commented on Angry Young Sisters Protest High Gas Prices After Losing Their Cable]]> I'm sure the little one-armed kids in Rawanda will take up a collection and send them money for their cable bill after they see this story on the one and only government-controlled television station while they huddle around the only TV in their village in their mud hut classroom.

<![CDATA[EBone commented on Immortal Detective Cast As Commander In Moore's Virtuality]]> The one thing that made me crazy about ST:TNG (besides time travel - OK , two things) were "the holodeck is broken and we're in danger and can't get out" stories. Any piece of technology, installed on the Flagship of the Federation, would have been yanked out by its circuits the first time it put the Captain in danger.

A whole series based on a wonky holodeck - I would have given Ron Moore the benefit of the doubt and looked in on it, but after the dreck that was the re-imagined Bionic Woman, I'll pass.

<![CDATA[EBone commented on Lightning Review: Western Digital's 320GB 7200RPM Scorpio Black Laptop Drive]]> I swapped mine a while ago for a 200 GB 7200 RPM drive. Very nice. Make sure you have a Torx #6 screwdriver beforehand - you can't proceed without one.

To buy the drive, try Other World Computing www.macsales.com
I bought mine from them, plus dozens of other things over the years from them. They have great instruction videos on their website that will show you just how to swap any component form just about any mac ever made.

<![CDATA[EBone commented on Who is the Gayest Robot in Science Fiction?]]> @Annalee Newitz: No it wasn't. Robby the Robot appeared as a "guest star" in two episodes of Lost in Space.

Robot B-9 is a completely different robot.

<![CDATA[EBone commented on WSJ: Android Is A Giant, Delayed Flustercuck, iPhone Easier to Develop For]]> @froggy: Since download of the third=party applications will be controlled by Apple, I think they'll be filtering out the malware and viruses.

]]>
<![CDATA[EBone commented on WSJ: Android Is A Giant, Delayed Flustercuck, iPhone Easier to Develop For]]> @92BuickLeSabre: Thanks for saving me some typing. While some are unhappy with Apple's proprietary software/hardware, once opened up via the SDK, those controls make the apps work that much better.

Android is like trying to get Vista to work on every possible PC configuration out there. There are going to be issues.

I do hope the Google succeeds, because competition helps creativity.
