Not only because it hurts the experience but also because of what it represents. It's a slap in the face to the openness of Android and to the people that buy this phone.

There have been multiple warnings about posting phrases and memes that annoy the rest of the community. The editors have dedicated several posts outlining how to be a good commenter and they have made it clear they do not want comments like this.

As far as the starring goes in relation to that particular user we are instructed as part of the community management team to approve and star anyone who posts that is involved in the development of any software, in this case an extension, that relates to a Gizmodo post.
Since this guy claims to be a developer for one of the featured Safari extensions he received a star.
