<![CDATA[Comments from Niskyspy]]> <![CDATA[Comments from Niskyspy]]> <![CDATA[Niskyspy commented on MSI Wind With 6-Cell Battery Now Available]]> I knew this was going to happen that is why I bought 1000H when Asus dropped it by $100. I have EeePC701 and its so tiny that I just needed to upgrade. I did some research on MSI and 1000H and specs are mostly the same except Asus has way better build quality, multi-touch mouse pad and looks way better. And since the price on MSI wind with 3cell battery was $499 I knew that by the time they come out with 6 cell battery Wind, the price either be the same as asus or more expensive. Go ASUS, wins once again.

<![CDATA[Niskyspy commented on iPod Swing Speakers Are Snap-On, Kinda Neat]]> Yep, Just like Lee A. said, we have the nano version at RadioShack for $30. They were one sale about two weeks ago for $24.99.

<![CDATA[Niskyspy commented on World's Largest Hourglass Filled With Silver Balls and a Luxury Sedan For BMW Moscow Launch]]> You guys do know that 90% of tint is nothing. You can't really see it. The lower the % is the darker the tint is. So Russians probably have %20 to 5% (20% being limo tint).

<![CDATA[Niskyspy commented on Asus Developing Eee PC Touchscreen Tablet]]> Liz99, get a bluetooth folding keyboard when u need to type stuff. But the best thing about touchscreen is when u have to take notes in Chem or Physics because there is a lot of drawings during lectures so my EeePC is very useless in some classes.

]]>
<![CDATA[Niskyspy commented on Asus Developing Eee PC Touchscreen Tablet]]> Well, I can already see one problem with this. Since Asus EeePC is now coming with Windows XP and that is what 75% of people want. Microsoft made a guideline about Windows XP future updates that it will be avaliable for Ultra Portable computers but not for anything that has touch screen. So Asus will probably use Linux or Vista (I hate Vista), linux is nice but I only like Ubuntu which eee touch wouldn't come with. We'll see what happens but I really like the idea of cheap touchscreen.

<![CDATA[Niskyspy commented on Internal AT&T Memo Details Contract Free Rate Plans, Handset Must be Paid for in Full]]> Yes, it you could of done that for years. But here is a catch. After your spend 2 years under no contract, customers that has signed a contract will get an special upgrade price. While after you spend the same ammount of money during the two years non contract subsription won't get anything from At&t.

<![CDATA[Niskyspy commented on Question of the Day: Do You Prefer Ultralight Laptops?]]> I have EeePC and it works very well for me.
I've read a lot of anti-eeepc comments and reviews. But people still don't understand that EeePC wasn't made to be a replacement for a notebook or a desktop. I use it as an addition to my laptop because its way more portable and has better battery life. I use it to check and respond to my emails watch a movies while I am traveling and sometimes do word and powerpoint enditing. I do though hate Xandros (the OS that it came with) and installed WinXP on it. Now I am just waiting for a better version of Ubuntu that will work with my EeePC.
And yes I think UMPC is where its heading to. I will be getting a 9" EeePC when it comes out.

]]>
<![CDATA[Niskyspy commented on How Slim Is the MacBook Air?]]> EeePC, yes its not slimmer but it is smaller overall and only $399 for a good version. EeePC wins :)

<![CDATA[Niskyspy commented on Everex Targeting the Eee PC With the New "Cloudbook"]]> Well lets see:
I found out about EeePC when gizmodo posted its first post about Asus cheap/small notebook. And ever since I was waiting to get one. I had mine for about a month now and I am just glued to it still. Yes this new ultra portable laptop looks kinda neat, but still isn't anywhere cooler then EeePC. The price is already set to $400 which is going to really compete with full size notebooks that will sell cheaper and cheaper every year. By the time this Laptop comes out there will probably be 2nd version of EeePC with way better specs and 1st version will flood the market and probably be way cheaper then what I paid for it right now. So unless they really up the specs or dramatically lower the price I don't think it will succeed.

<![CDATA[Niskyspy commented on Best Buy Porn Thief Inquisitions Revealed]]> I live in central NY and there is a CompUSA, BestBuy, CircuitCity and bunch of other shops in 10mi range. But most of the people don't want to go through hassle of disconnecting their computer and bringing it to a shop and then waiting 2-4weeks to get it back. Mostly is people that work for GE or own their own bussiness. So they can't just go without their computer for more then a week and have a probability of loosing all their files. Small PC repair shops around here still charge outrageous money for shitty work. So we are thinking on starting a Computer Repair shop, it will be very little 2-4 people and we wont have a office or anything like that, it will be home work only. We'll charge $20 to get to your house and that covers first hour of service so if the problem isn't bad and we can fix it in an hour you will only pay $20. Then, if you refer a person and he/she uses our service you will get an hour free . These prices are just to get the bussiness started. Then it will probably be $25 to get there and $10 or $15 an hour after that. We'll see how it goes, we already did a couple of home services and people actually give us very nice tips because we fix the problem right in front of them and dont overcharge the crap out of them like BestBuy does :)

<![CDATA[Niskyspy commented on Fired By Circuit City? They Might Want You Back]]> Well, if you actually want a store that will tell you what stuff is and how it works stop by your local RadioShack and ask questions. I work at RadioShack and we know our shit. Two days ago I stopped by BestBuy to buy some stuff for my laptop and no one there knew anything at all, thank god I actually knew what I was looking for. And I just thought of people that get taken advantage of when they shop at BestBuy.

<![CDATA[Niskyspy commented on Asus Eee PC Gets Pricing and Release Date]]> To clear things up for people CEO of Asustek said that the EeePC701 in its lowest version which has 4gig will cost $199. So stop asking where the price come from.
Although we are not sure if there is going to be any addition's like monthly payments. Though Asus never did anything like that with any of its products.

<![CDATA[Niskyspy commented on Asus Eee PC Gets Pricing and Release Date]]> Could this be what Asus EeePC 701 will get?

<![CDATA[Niskyspy commented on Asus Eee PC Gets Pricing and Release Date]]> So it will run Linux (Xandros) from the start. It would be really nice if BIOS allowed for USB boot up (which is should because its 2007 and it would be the only way to boot anything on EeePC) The reason for USB is external CD/DVD player to install Ubuntu (which is, well the best and the most user friendly Linux in the world and I just love it). I am still wondering about screen resolution and processor speed (it better be at least 800mhz).
I am sure I'll buy one when it comes out because it will be the best things for college student with a lot of moving (from class to class) and lots of note taking and of course web browsing when things get really boring in class.
I CAAANNN'TTT WAIT :)

]]>
<![CDATA[Niskyspy commented on Asus Eee PC Gets Pricing and Release Date]]> I would really like to know the resolution on the 7" screen. They better not cheap out and put a shitty screen in there.

<![CDATA[Niskyspy commented on Asus Eee PC Gets Pricing and Release Date]]> My god, I remember there was a post about Asus compact lappies coming out toward the end of this year and it was said that the prices will wary from $199 to $545. This is the only reason why I didn't buy a new laptop yet. My oldie (2 years old) has 45 min battery life, burns my legs when I use. The only upside of it is that I got rid of windows and put Ubuntu on it and it kept me really happy lately. I'll definetely buy the Asus EeePC and put Ubuntu on it. I'd say 8gig is enough for install and music then use external notebook HD for videos and big things. 16Gig would be really good though probably the best. Damn I am so excited that now I know what I am going to spend my money on :).
