If I was a millionaire I would definitely be redistributing my wealth.

And by redistributing I mean buying stuff!

I was moreso referring to his hard drug habit than the fact that he was depressed.
At the rate he was going before he died, I don't think that Cobain would have the mental capacity to do it if he were still alive.
Are you dissing on people who take Bon Iver seriously? Really? Well I think I would be perfectly happy if today you were decapitated by pipes falling off the back of a semi-truck.

Bon Iver is serious business dude. #crosstalk

Shutup you slimy sack of human filth. #crosstalk
There's always been a pretty decent chunk of people who get angry when they disagree with people on Gawker. Maybe some folks who aren't getting their fix of healthwatch posts are getting a little angsty.

And I'm not sure the banhammer really altered arguments all that much. It may have kept some people from rising to Rashabon levels of unhinged anger, but Gawker's always had it's fair share if pretty feisty arguments.

I think I'm going to hang out with all the #smartpeople in here for awhile.
Though I'm not sure why anyone would bother. I don't think the law actually does anything at all.
When I buy stock in Wells Fargo, my common shares are on the level with any common shares that anyone else owns. I may not have distinct knowledge of the inner workings of the corporation like a rich investor who is a member of the board does, but that's a reason why small investors shouldn't invest in individual stocks, but rather mutual funds and/or ETFs that give you the types of economic exposures you want without the exposure to the machinations at any one company.

Mutual funds & ETFs are courted just as hard as the rich & powerful by institutions seeking funding.

A part of the reason that you might have no idea about how it works is that you subscribed to the Motley Fool.
How many firstborn sons do you think students at a Christian college school will have?
They aren't happy, but his public persona as a bad boy is also something that keeps feeding their energy.

As far as silence on violence against women, I think there's been plenty of villification. No one is ignorant to what he did, and those who like him, like in spite of (or maybe because of) what he did. Continuing to belabor the point only serves to keep the spotlight on him, rather than on the issue.

Since Sean Penn always picks the right side in South American issues...
The purpose doesn't really matter. What matters is that continued vilification of him or those who paid him any respect at all fosters an image that his fans clearly revel in.
Is this a trick question? I'm pretty sure it's because scientists rarely run for office, even in theoretically more intelligent liberal districts. #crosstalk
But it's different. The rich and famous aren't really people, so it's okay to mercilessly mock them, right?
It's always been my goal in life to make a ton of money, horribly mismanage it, make a ton more money by being a complete sellout, and then, at the bitter end, party so hard that I die via drowning in my own vomit because I'm too drunk and/or stoned to roll over on my side.

I know, I know, I'm shooting really high and all, but I still believe America allows for upward mobility dammit!

Oh holy crap. Time warps are back. This is the first comment to appear when I open #whitenoise right now.
THE TIME WARPS HAVE RETURNED.

I opened up #whitenoise and this comment was up at the top.

In my religion's version of that story, the Gawker commenters actually created the entire Himalayan mountain range.
