From what I've read about this story, the DA's office had received complaints about people getting incorrect or misleading results. They're calling for certification for the labs. The part about having to go through a doctor to get "permission" to get an sequencing sounds kinda fishy, though.

I wonder if the Shoemaker-Levy comet strike had some effect that is just no percolating to the "surface". Maybe something really, really big hit along time back, and caused the conditions allowing the formation of the Giant Red Spot.

Since the XBox 360s' HD-DVD drive was an external unit that used a USB connection (and can be used on a PC
running Windows XP or Vista, using WMP

Actually, this movie has gotten a sort-of MST3K treatment. It's by a group called "the Film Crew" composed of Bill Corbett, Kevin Murphy, Beth McKeever, and Michael J. Nelson, and otters. I just umm.. "found" a copy out there. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet, though.

paperbacks, "Ancestor Cell" I believe, with the 8th/Fox
movie Doctor (Paul McGann). There were a few books
building up to the wipe-out, but I can't recall their
