<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on Do Subscriptions Really Save You Money?]]> Netflix and Rhapsody are my go-to subscriptions. I have no desire to buy music or movies. The cost is so low that I am not wasting any measurable amount of money, but still enjoy movies and music the same as media purchasers and probably more since I have unlimited access to almost all music and videos.

<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on Rumor: New Dell Inspirons Take Shot At Macbook Air, Lenovo X300]]> These are some of the nicest looking Dell's yet. And for the guy that said he would take a slower IBM, your are clueless. Dell is the only company I know of that will send me and part for the computer and let me replace it or buy any internal upgrade that I wish. Try that with an IBM. And Dell's are cheaper on the right day of the week. All laptops are manufactured by some shitty overseas company, so an IBM is no different than a Dell, or HP, ect...

]]>
<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on Microsoft: Touchscreens Old and Busted; Force Sensitivity Is New Hotness]]> 5-7 years ago, if someone told you would put your fingers on the screen of your Dell Axiom and pinch and flick the screen, you would have said the same thing, "how is this useful?". Then the iPhone is released and pinch-and-flick is the next best thing to breathing. If apple would have came out with this, then it would be okay, right?

<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on Do You Have a Home Theater System? Was It Professionally Installed?]]> @ab3: I prefer Sony's Wide Zoom option which almost elimnates the short fatties, but retains the entire picture. I bars worse than slight distortion. SD sucks on an LCD regardless if it is 4:3 or stretched.

]]>
<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on Do You Have a Home Theater System? Was It Professionally Installed?]]> Comment system not working, errr.

Please use some sort of test tone DVD and an SPL meter to properly set the output of your speakers. I hate when people have the surrounds cranked all the way up. Placement is very important so please follow a guide like on the THX website.

<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on Do You Have a Home Theater System? Was It Professionally Installed?]]> My advice to people setting up a home theater, use some sort of test tone DVD and an analog SPL meter to properly set the output of your speakers. I hate going to someones house and the surrounds are cranked all the way up. Another annoyance is front speakers mounted 4 feet above or below the center. Just follow a guide like on the THX website and you will be fine.

<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on Meizu M8 MiniOne UI Tweaked, Again]]> I don't hear about anyone bashing Sandisk for obviously copying the nano. The Sansa e200 and Fuze are well respected budget players that were designed from the start to look at feel as much like the nano as they could get away with, especially the Fuze.

]]>
<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on Meizu M8 MiniOne UI Tweaked, Again]]> @TheSonOfKrypton: You mean like Apple copying the Creative interface? Real innovative Apple. Or Apple switching to Intel procs? Real innovative. Where's the RISC proc? Or Apple switching to *nix? Real innovative. Or like Engadget/Gizmodo/Lifehacker/"your site here" for being innovative?

Hopefully Meizu copies it and releases it to drive some competition, so Apple will stop raping Apple followers.

<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on Couple Buys $300 Hard Drive From Best Buy, Box Filled With Nothing But Beans]]> Best Buy rocks because they have the best and easiest return policy in the United States, online or B&M. I don't like it, I return it, no questions asked. How is that for bad service? Maybe it's because I live in a city where 80% of the people have degrees, so even our BB staff is well educated and polite.
For all the haters, how about we close down all B&M stores and you have to order everything electronic and computer item online? How about paying that $200 shipping on a new TV? You all shop and BB or CC for some items, don't lie just to make friends.

]]>
<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on Couple Buys $300 Hard Drive From Best Buy, Box Filled With Nothing But Beans]]> It is too easy for a previous customer to open a box, replace the item with "beans" and return the item. If the merchandise "appears" not to have been opened, then it most likely goes back on the shelf for the next customer to get screwed. That's why we need to BLISTER PACK EVERYTHING!!! HAIL BLISTER PACKS!!!

<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on Poor People Use Yahoo, Richies Use Google]]> The same can be said for iPods. But we all know iPods are not the best PMP, so that either makes rich people ignorant or stupid. The same can be said for using Google. And how can you compare Yahoo and Google? Yahoo is a all-in-one portal and Google is a search engine with a crappy email client. I use both Yahoo and Google for different things and glad tha both exist.

<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on Hands On Nikon D60 With Stop-Motion Movie Walkthrough]]> If there was ever a feature you didn't need on a dSLR, this is it. The D40-nonX is still their best non-pro camera. The best thing about the D60 is that stores are now giving away the D40 for peanuts.

<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on Vibrating Earphones Have Wood, Give Your Ear Canal a Good Time]]> @SomeoneUKno:
Skullcandy = Mud in Ear. The worst sounding phones exver, next to most Sony. JVC Marshamallows would have been a much better buy for $15 or Creative EP630 for $22.
Wood is essential in instruments and there are plenty of other headphones out there that use wood, so these might turn out to be pretty good.

<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on MadCatz HDMI Conversion Kit Brings HDMI to Premium, Core Xbox 360s]]> HDMI vs Component is a non-issue, there is little to no difference. It's like 720P v. 1080p. Optical v. Coax. And I don't own a PS3 or 360, but you also get a free built-in wireless adapter with the PS3 and free, but not Live, online gaming, and HD player. For anyone who was a PS1/2 fan, the PS3 makes way more sense than the XBox.

]]>
<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on Question of the Day: If Competition is a Good Thing, Why Do We Keep Wishing For One HD Format?]]> This psot is retarded. Should the commercial CD format have a competitor? No. Then they wouldn't play in all cars. With BR and HD we won't benefit from cheaper movie prices only faster decreases in hardware pricing. All media has a price point regardless of competition, hardware fluctuates.

<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on Best Buy Still Using Secret In-Store Website With Higher Pricing [Update]]]> @dcartist:
Best Buy is the best place to return stuff, at least in Texas. They have never asked me a single question about a return and this is at numerous stores. I love Best Buy. Circuit City is the worst, being the only brick and mortar store with restocking fees.

I just filed a complaint with the Texas Attny. General regarding the secret BB website. I bought some of the infamous Insignia speakers and the sales guy kept telling me they weren't on sale. I told him they are on the external website and he disagreed, trying to show me the internal website pricing. I finally got him to log in to the external website and he said, "oh". We will wait and see what the Attny. General has to say about it....

<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on Sony Says Goodbye To Rear Projection TVs]]> @krueger246:
You are such a bad tech. Of course you think Sony's suck, you work on them all the time. There are millions of Sony's that work fins that you never touch. And until they make a plasma with a matte screen, plasma can suck the big one....

<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on Sony Says Goodbye To Rear Projection TVs]]> @lafond66:

<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on More Windows Errors Take Over the World, Prepare Ground for Alien Invasion]]> @ImTheKing: Harsh. Nice to see Mac can finally play Sims and Roller Coaster Tycoon. They still haven't caught Windoze, but switching to an Intel platform, finally, might help them get on the same planet as Windoze.
Windowze capitalized on mass market share and Apple didn't because Steve loves his closed OS.
What does CS 101 have to do with anything? Maybe I should learn how to make a IMTHEKING IS GAY app first. It's a very simple minded app.

]]>
<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on More Windows Errors Take Over the World, Prepare Ground for Alien Invasion]]> @ImTheKing: You can't compare cars, because there a at least 15 competitors to the focus. Only 6% of the population use Macs. There must be a reason for this. Microsoft doesn't advertise nearly as much as Mac, but Mac can't seem to reach more people than 6%. Is it because they are so similar, Windows computer as more accessible and a PC is cheaper with the same exact functionality....yes. Oh and you still can't game on the MacOS. All I know is that my PC doesn't have condensation forming on it. Is there an error message for that?

]]>
<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on More Windows Errors Take Over the World, Prepare Ground for Alien Invasion]]> It's a Mac commericial in typical Gizmodo fashion. People can give up on Vista, but will eventually have to switch because MS will go EOL on XP. There is no need to be a fanboy, when market share speaks for itself. 91% v. 6%.

<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on iPod Nano With a 2MP Camera...Well, Sort Of]]> @GizFanAlpha: Every holiday string of lights and most holiday decorations contain a warning about lead. This is true of most electronics. They usually contain an insert explaining that in California, these items have been know to cause cancer. I suggest you get rid of everything electronic or lighted in your house. Whew...now you're safe.

<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on Sharps 1080p AQUOS LCD TVs Are Optimized For Gaming With "Vyper Drive"]]> Sharp:
Last manufacturer to add PC input.
Sony has had side inputs for a couple of years.
Sony has also had "Gaming Mode" which does the same thing as Vyper Drive".

Sharp's look nice, but they have some stubborn engineers that can't keep up with the times. If any new LCD has pixel response time issues, then the manufacturer is pile of poo. This isn't 2004 is it?

<![CDATA[Slaughter commented on iPod Nano With a 2MP Camera...Well, Sort Of]]> Why do people care if someone rips off another greedy company? Is BTL in any way affecting Apple's profits? Do you really love Apple that much that you care is someone rips the off? Rip off who ever you want, whenever you want. No one complains that TiVo ripped off and improved ReplayTV. Congrats BTL on ripping off and improving the Nano! Someone had to do it, Apple wasn't going to.
