    • TessCulver commented on Palm Pre Users Complain About Lack of On-Screen Keyboard

""One of the biggest, loudest complaints about all-touchscreen phones like the iPhone is its lack of a hardware keyboard, and now a survey shows Pre users most want a soft keyboard." First I laughed long, then I laughed hard, then I laughed loudly... I love the iPhone touch keyboard."

    • TessCulver commented on Ensure Your Car Rental Goes as Planned

"My pet hate with rental companies is the "or equivalent" description in the online booking system. You book a "standard convertible" which shows a picture of a Mustang and says "Mustang or equivalent" and when you get there, never, and I repeat *never* do they have a Mustang."

"Clever, but should look polished, like a Mac. It looks like what I imagine Windows "windows" look like underneath if you peel off the aero front, exposing the DOS underneath... "

    • TessCulver commented on How to Make Your Own Solar iPhone/iPod Charger

"I experimented with solar powering my iPhone some time ago and came to the conclusion that in the UK at least, in winter, I would need a 13W solar panel to allow for my average daily usage of the phone."

    • TessCulver commented on Giz Explains: Why Analog Audio Cables Really Aren't All The Same

"Monster cables are NOT good cables by any audiophiles definition. Better than the cheap junk, yes, but they're hardly the most expensive thing out there and nor are they highly regarded. It is worth buying decent well shielded analogue cables, if only for the mess of AC cables you typically find behind your equipment cabinet and the fact you generally go around the room running parallel to your electric mains socket wiring. Personally I've always bought QED speaker cable and analogue interconnects, but the good stuff like Van nen Hul is overkill for my system even though I have pretty decent B&W floorstanders and a high end Denon surround amp.
