Maybe I'm over-thinking it, but I interpreted this as more of a focus on coming of age, and the benefits of being young at heart so to speak. Yes, she goes through the stages of adolescence and post adolescence, but the big tip-off was the regression at the end. Yes, one can find oneself in dark places, if one is not careful. If it is a student film, it really seems indicative of where the creator is in life. Nevertheless, very pretty.
